The Galle Fort

Standing tall in the epicentre of Galle town is the iconic Galle Dutch Fort. This historical marvel is a UNESCO world heritage, visited by thousands of travellers from around the world. Signifying Sri Lanka’s vibrant colonial past, the place remains an epitome of historical ingenuity and beauty to date. Not too far from the ramparts, of the Dutch Fort, you can also come across the magnificent Galle Lighthouse and the Galle Clocktower. Apart from the city’s rich colonial heritage, there are also ample boutique hotels in Galle, you can choose to stay, so it’s a bonus.
