Yep! You read that correctly! I am back with my Throw back Thursday music! Comparing our favourite K-Idols' personalities to other versions of music with a bit of a music history lesson! This week I decided to come back with VIXX and their gorgeous new concept to compare it to Medieval and Celtic music. Not every song on here will be a traditional Medieval or Celtic song, however. Some of them are modernized but were re-created in the 90's and early 2000's. That being said; let's get started!
Music in the Middle Ages began as monophonic chant, but in c900 new types of polyphony developed and gradually expanded in rhythm, harmony and texture until reaching an extremely complex style in the late 1300s. A full assessment of Medieval music is difficult because the amount of musical source material that has survived from this era is limited by several factors:
Medieval music was an integral part of everyday life for the people of that time period. Music of the Middle Ages was especially popular during times of celebration and festivities. Music was often played during holidays and special parties. During weddings and birthdays, the music was especially uplifting. For weddings and on Valentine's Day, lovers' music was played that was sure to evoke a romantic atmosphere. This type of music was called "chivaree." The musicians would play buoyant and cheery music with crescendos. Many a different Medieval music instrument was played, including, recorders, horns, trumpets, whistles, bells, and drums.

One fine day, you'll look at me And you will know our love was, meant to be One fine day, you're gonna want me for your girl The arms I long for, will open wide And you'll be proud to have me, right by your side One fine day, you're gonna want me for your girl Though I know you're the kind of boy Who onlu wants to run around I'll keep waiting, and, someday darling You'll come to me when you want to settle down, Oh! One fine day, we'll meet once more And then you'll want the love you threw away before One fine day, you're gonna want me for your girl
