It's Tuesday everyone!!! You know what that means, right? This week's theme is: Fic Recs!! Which means we'll be spending all day sharing recommendations for our favorite Loki fanfiction! Here are a few of my favorites: True Colors Shining Thru by: Crazy_Cat_Lady After touching the Casket of Ancient Winters, Loki winds up stuck in his Jotun form and without his magic. With Odin sleeping and Thor banished to Earth, Frigga decides to send Loki to Jotunheim, accompanied by Sif and the Warriors Three, to negotiate reparations and learn about his people... But when Asgard comes under threat, Loki must seek out his adopted brother on Earth, and together they must find a way home. Flesh and Blood by: sueinnm After the chaos of the Avengers' battle with Loki and the Chitauri, Thor brings a bound Loki back to Asgard. Part 1 in the "Loki's Redemption" series, an alternate version of the events following The Avengers and continuing into Thor: The Dark World. Plausible Deniability by: lord_hades After Loki’s fall from the Bifrost, the wormhole threw him nearly half a millenia back in time in Midgard. Over the centuries, he has forged a new identity for himself and is content with his tenuous grasp on inner peace and he will do everything in his power never to return to Asgard, even if the most stubborn, tenacious god of thunder is trying to kick down his front door. ~5 Femslash Fic Recs for Ladies Week!~
Can I get an amen? In honor of Ladies' Week, here are my top five favorite femslash fics! No Bangs Without Foreign Office Approval by recoknedrightly Sherlock and Joan go through training together and go from friends to clandestine lovers lovers before separating to in France. There, they must pursue a British spy turned Nazi traitor, allying themselves with Resistance leaders, sticking to their cover and hiding from the Gestapo. And there *might* be an explosion or two along the way. It’s 1942, and while London’s nights are no longer interrupted by air raid sirens, the war still rages and not all of it is fought openly. From its headquarters in Baker Street, the Special Operations Executive plans to set Europe ablaze with its networks of spies and saboteurs in Nazi-occupied territory. Joan Watson knows what it is to keep a secret, but she isn’t expecting to be recruited into the clandestine world of SOE. Nor is she prepared to meet Sherlock Holmes, a former private detective who has by her own admission ruined her own life at least three times over—and who has a murder to solve in Occupied France. Read this if you want an incredibly researched historical drama. (LINK) A State of Love and Trust by dreiser After Wanda joins the Avengers, Natasha finds that she can’t look away. Love and trust didn’t come easily to the Black Widow except, it seemed, when it involved the Scarlet Witch. Read this if you want something passionate and beautiful. (LINK) Girls in Peacetime Go Dancing by FeelsForBreakfast So this is one giant genderswapped dance party. The war is over and everyone is going to be friends. After some bantering and forced companionship. When the gang ends up back at Hogwarts for their 8th year, McGonagall proposes a Yule Ball to raise morale and promote inter-house unity. Unfortunately, that means obligatory dance lessons. Even more unfortunately, Harry’s a shit dancer and Draco doesn’t know the meaning of ‘follow.’ Feat. the mysteries of fiber art and the repeated butchering of Headmistress McGonagall’s name. Read this if you want something lighthearted and hilarious. (LINK) 17 Ways to Stay Alive by Taste_of_Suburbia Harley Quinn reflects on her troubled life, and the ways she’s seen pain and love intersect. Ivy is different, in a good way. There’s more than one way to stay alive. Of course, there’s plenty of ways to have fun while you’re surviving too. Read this if you're in the mood for a great recovery story. (LINK) The World Can Wait by tat-buns Korra and Asami are a fantastic couple. They are absolutely winning at being a couple. It's canon. It’s been a long day. A long week, actually, and Asami can feel the weight of it all, her shoulders stiff, body and mind aching for release. Read this if you want your jaw to drop. Ereri/Riren shippers
Hi! Okay, do any of you guys use Wattpad? There's an author on there who's username is "Faybird". I just wanted to rant a bit about how kick ass this person is in terms of writing, and as a person altogether I guess. 1. Fan fiction. With P L O T. Who doesn't like fanfics?? Honestly. I can't think of anyone who doesn't. No beating around the bush here (except a few songfics here and there) the plot of everything they write is drawn out and planned, everything happens for a reason, there is detail and subliminal clues and foreshadowing EVERYWHERE. It's amazing. 2. Characters, and Character Development. Everyone that dies (and doesn't for that matter) does so for a reason. It's never forced or sprung out on us, death isn't intended to shock readers, and they know that. Death is used to further the plot! There are also shit tons of happy moments that make you appreciate life more (honest to god, their "Be Still" gave me as many feels as the anime "Death Parade" and "Anohana"! They all feel like real people, people we can relate to and cheer for! They have a way of making us feel genuine concern for characters we already know- and that's because they go just far enough out of canon to make them believable in modern times (where most of their fics take place) the reactions, the mess ups, the emotions and even quirks feel so real to that character. 3. Communication! With 247 followers, you think they wouldn't want to reply to messages, or really take anyone's advice- but they do! Holy damn, every author I've sent a "good job" to on AO3 has ignored me, even with a smaller follower count than Faybird's, but they always reply right away to messages, and even create drabbles/requests dedicated to those who message them! I didn't join Vingle to do shout outs- but I just really felt this author was worth checking out! Let me know if you're on Wattpad too! I'd love to read your work.
