This DIY sunflower wreath will brighten up your living space!
Need to add some Spring decoration to your home or apartment? This DIY sunflower wreath tutorial is the perfect solution for adding some Spring decorations to your living space. This tutorial comes from the creative people at Grillo Designs. Materials For this project, you will need: -- 1 roll of 10″ Green Poly Burlap -- 1 roll of 10″ Yellow Poly Burlap -- 1 roll of 10″ brown Poly Burlap -- 10″ Wire Wreath Frame -- 1 sheet of Plastic Stiff Plastic Canvas -- Yellow and beige pipe cleaners -- 2 Zip Ties -- Scissors or rotary knife You can find all of these items at a craft store. Cut out the burlap and fold it Cut the green burlap into a 7" X 12" rectangle. Then, fold the diagonal corners together, as shown in the picture above. These are your petals for your sunflower. Tie the green petals to the wire frame Use the yellow pipe cleaners to tie your green petals to the wire frame, as shown in the picture above. Make the yellow petals Cut the yellow burlap into the same size rectangle as the green rectangle. Then, fold them into petals the same way you did with the green petals. Tie the yellow petals around the wire frame Use some more yellow pipe cleaners to tie the yellow petals around the wire frame, as shown in the picture above. Start making the center of the sunflower Take the sheet of stiff plastic canvas and cut it into a circle large enough to fit in the middle of the wire frame. Then, take pieces of beige burlap and string them through the holes in the plastic canvas to make the center for the sunflower. Continue forming the center of the sunflower Continue threading the beige burlap through the plastic canvas, as shown in the picture above. Zip tie the center to the wire frame Use the zip ties to attach the plastic canvas to the wire frame, as shown in the picture above. Transform paper plates into beautiful flowers
Paper plates -> beautiful flowers! This easy DIY project will turn paper plates into adorable and sophisticated decorations for a Spring party, bridal party or wedding! This DIY tutorial comes from the creative people at Muslin & Merlot. Materials For this project, you will need: -- Paper plates -- Scissors -- Craft glue or a hot-glue gun and glue sticks -- Craft paint -- Twine -- Large marker (to curl the paper plates) -- X-acto knife You can find all of these items at a craft store. Cut the flower base Fold the paper plate into a small triangle, as shown in the picture above. Then, cut the paper plate along the black dotted line shown in the picture above. Use the marker to curl the petals of the flower. Cut smaller flowers Repeat the previous steps, just smaller for three smaller flowers. Make sure to save the edges of the plates that you cut off. Attach the petals together Use the X-acto knife to cut a hole in the middle of the flowers stacked on top of each other. String twine through the center hole and tie a few knots. Then, take the excess plate edges and cut them into fringes. Then, curl them around each other so that they form a fringed center for the flower. Assemble the flower Use the hot-glue gun to glue the fringed center to the flower petals. Also, add some glue in between the flower petals to make the flower more sturdy. If you would like, you can add some paint to give your flowers some color. Set these beautiful flowers out as decorations and enjoy!
