How I self teach my self Japanese.
1. Write everything I learn down Whenever I learn a new word, i write it down in my notebook. I feel that it's easier to have it written down and refer back to it when I can. certain words I would put a side note under it so it's easier for me to understand. 2. Practice my Hiragana and Katakana
I go online and find the stroke order and continue to write it until it's stuck in my head.
I also use the app Kana Mind. it is available for iOS and Android and it's free. it's a great memory game to help learn hiragana and katakana. 3. Memrise
This is where I learn most of my new vocabulary and learn how to practice my pronunciation and even learn Kanji. It's very helpful and a free app! 4. Find language exchange buddies online or just simply listen to Japanese music.
I find it easy to practice by talking to some friends from Japan and in a way your helping them learn your language too.
I listen to J-pop to get the rhythm of the words and the structure of sentences. Sometimes I'll watch Japanese Dramas or Shows too. Ive been learning Japanese on my own for two years. I think my progress has improved from when i first started learning it. Im able to read Hiragana and Katakana as if I was reading English.
Im slowly understanding the structure of sentences better and Every once in awhile I catch myself speaking to my cat in Japanese or in my head thinking in Japanese.
