The Five Social Groups
To help you out with understanding the social structure in The Heirs.
Hope this hopes you out a bit unnie @leegloria22 ^^
5. MANAGEMENT SUCCESSION GROUP
This group includes Young Do (Kim Woobin), Rachel (Kim Ji Won), and Ye Sol (Jun Soo Jin). These kids are not only heirs to large fortunes, but also to large companies, which they will be expected to take over someday. Most of them have some part in running their family businesses already, in addition to the pressures of school.
4. STOCK INHERITANCE GROUP
This group includes Bo Na (f(x)'s Krystal). Kids in this group won't actually run their parents' companies, but they're already major shareholders and are very aware of what's going on in the company. It's interesting that Chan Young doesn't name Tan (Lee Min Ho) as part of this group- he won't be taking over his family's business, but it'd make sense that he'd be a major shareholder- if he doesn't fall in this group, where does Tan fall?
3. HONOR INHERITANCE GROUP
This group includes Myung Soo (ZE:A's Hyungshik) and Hyo Shin (Kang Ha Neul). Myung Soo's father is a respected lawyer and Hyo Shin's is the attorney general. They have to uphold the family honor instead of the family business, as it's unlikely they'll follow in their parents' footsteps. As we saw with Hyo Shin earlier in the season, this comes with a lot of vaguely defined requirements to simply be the best at everything.
2. SOCIAL CARE GROUP
The social care group are the scholarship kids. They're not there because of their parents, they're there because someone rich owes their parents a favor. In Chan Young's case, he's been given tuition to Jeguk because his dad works for the company. Joon Young shows us exactly why this is such a tough position to be in, as he's a target of the higher-ranking social groups and is going to transfer out of this school as soon as possible.
1. EUN SANG
Then we have our heroine, off in a class of her own. She's technically a social care case, but Tan tricked everyone into thinking she's new money, which doesn't put her in a defined class. Tan's the only one who knows her story, and everyone's scratching their heads to figure out who this new girl is and why everyone else seems to already know who she is.
