DIY peppermint bark
Peppermint bark is one of the most delicious holiday treats to ever be invented. This DIY project is incredibly easy and makes an incredibly delicious treat that you can enjoy at a holiday party or with friends and family. This DIY tutorial comes from the great people at Tastemade and Carina Stewart. If you need more help with the project, check out this video, which breaks it down in step-by-step instructions. Materials For this project, you will need: -- 6 candy canes, crushed -- 1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate -- 1 tbsp vegetable oil -- 1 1/2 cup white chocolate chips -- 1 tbsp vegetable oil -- 1 tsp peppermint extract -- Pot -- Heatproof bowl -- Spatula -- 9x13 baking pan -- Wax paper You can find all of these items at a grocery store. Melt the chocolate Place the pot with about 2 inches of water in it on medium heat on your stove. Once the water is hot, place the heatproof bowl on the top of the pot with the chocolate chips and the vegetable oil in the bowl. Use the spatula to stir the chocolate chips until they are all melted. Pour chocolate onto baking pan Once the chocolate is completely melted, pour the melted chocolate onto the baking pan lined with wax paper. Put the pan in the refrigerator for 20 minutes or until the chocolate hardens. Melt the white chocolate Repeat the same steps that you did to melt the chocolate chips, but instead melt the white chocolate chips. The only difference is to add the peppermint extract to the white chocolate while you are melting it. Then, pour the melted white chocolate over the hardened chocolate on the baking pan. Cover with crushed candy canes Crush the candy canes and spread over the melted chocolate. Then, put the entire pan back into the refrigerator to let all of the peppermint bark harden.
