DIY alcohol ink coasters
Make your friends think that you are a professional painter with these beautiful alcohol ink coasters. These coasters will add a pop of color to your living space, while protecting your furniture from damaging liquid rings. This DIY tutorial comes from the creative people at Instructables. Materials For this project, you will need: -- Tiles -- Alcohol inks -- Rubbing alcohol -- Felt -- Glue -- Black paint -- Paint brushes -- Clear sealant spray You can find all of these items at a craft store. Spread the alcohol Use the paint brush to completely cover the tiles in rubbing alcohol. Be generous with the rubbing alcohol — don't skimp on it! Apply ink After you cover the tile with rubbing alcohol, apply the ink to the tile. I recommend starting with lighter colors and then going with the darker colors. The rubbing alcohol will make the ink spread and create the watercolor effect. Paint the edges black To create a more professional look, paint the edges of the tiles black. Glue the felt on the back Cover the entire back of the tile coasters with glue. Then, add the felt to the back so that the coasters will not damage the furniture. Seal the coasters Spray the clear sealant all over the coasters to seal the paint and make the coasters water-resistant. Let the coasters completely dry before use. If you're more a visual learner, here is a video that shows the entire tutorial. Enjoy your beautiful and unique coasters!
