Too Much Epilogue
Hey guys. Here's the epilogue. When I first started posting this story, this part did not exist. I never thought people would like my story as much as they did. I wrote this part as a 'thank you' to all of you guys who read, liked, commented on, clipped, and followed my story. It's not very much, but it's just a little treat. I hope you enjoy it. Also, please read to the end. I am adding a small little teaser and synopsis for my next story. The teaser is just a couple paragraphs from the first chapter. I changed some stuff just for the teaser that way it wouldn't give too much away. It also jumps from one time to another, that's why it'll appear a little disconnected. But I hope you'll enjoy it nonetheless. Disclaimer: Many of the characters aside from BTS are made up. And, of course, I don't know BTS personally so their personalities are probably mostly fictional. English is bolded. Please forgive me for any mistakes I make. Too Much Beginning: Chapter 1 Previous: Final- Chapter 37 Word Count: 1700 Warning: May contain mild language. Also, may cause cavities. Narrator POV One Month Later The doorbell rang. Taehyung, Jimin, and Jungkook quickly ran to the door. Between the fumblings of the three of them, they finally managed to open the door. “Noona!” they yelled simultaneously. Rose was pulled in for hugs. Laughing, Rose said, “You guys act like you haven’t seen me in months.” “Yeah, well, with all the work we’ve been doing, even one month seems like more," Taehyung replied. “You guys aren’t burning yourselves out are you?” “Maybe a little,” Jungkook replied. “But it’s nothing new. We’re just glad the manager’s giving us a day off. And that you’re here. Hyung's always hogging you.” Jin walked in from the kitchen. Looking around the entrance Jin asked, “Where’s Nina?” “Hello to you too, Jin.” Jin’s cheeks turned a little pink in embarrassment. “Sorry,” he said sheepishly as he made his way over to hug Rose. “That’s alright. I was expecting that. As for your girlfriend, she said she had to pick some stuff up that she ordered from a boutique. Purses or something like that. I’m not sure, I usually lose my attention when she starts talking about shopping.” Jin laughed. “Yeah, she does like shopping.” “Aren’t you glad you’re not her Sugar Daddy.” All the boys laughed. “For the record, I’m not the one who said it.” “Duly noted. But she should be here in about half an hour or so.” “Thanks.” “Where’s everyone else?” Rose asked the boys. “Hobi-hyung and Joonie-hyung are in Joonie-hyung’s room working on song lyrics or something, And Yoongi-hyung...” Jimin trailed off and looked at Jin. “I’m not sure where he is. He was on the couch when we went to our room half an hour ago.” Jin finished answering, “He went to his room. And since he’s not out here, I’m guessing he’s either got his headphones in or fell asleep.” “Fell asleep.” The three younger boys guessed. “Then I guess I should wake him up?” Rose asked questioningly even though it was more of a statement. “Yeah, you’re probably the only one whose head he won’t bite off,” Jungkook laughed. The other boys agreed. “Okay. I’ll get to it then.” “Just make sure you guys come back out,” Taehyung said suggestively, smirking. Rose’s face turned bright red. “Jimin, what have you done to Taehyung? He’s starting to act like you.” “You say that like it’s a bad thing,” Jimin rebutted, feigning being hurt. “It is.” Jin stated matter-of-factly. “Hey!” The boys started laughing again. As Rose started walking to Yoongi’s room she heard Jungkook ask Taehyung, “Why wouldn’t they come back out?” Rose let out a little snort of laughter before entering the room. She shut the door behind her. Sure enough, she saw the shape of Yoongi on his back, one hand on his chest, sleeping comfortably on his bed. A small sliver of sunlight made its way through the curtains to rest across Yoongi’s pillow, just above his head. Rose smiled and quietly knelt down by the bed. She laid her head on the mattress, just next to his head that was propped up by pillows, and just took in the sight. Rose still had trouble believing everything that had happened that night. That he was really hers. She let her eyes trail across his features and watched his chest rise and fall with each breath. She felt so bad. The boys worked themselves so hard, so sleeping was a rare and treasured commodity for them. Yoongi let out a deep sigh and shifted so that he was now facing her, but he was still sleeping. She didn’t even realize she was smiling. Her phone pinged indicating a Line message. She checked the message. Nina was just letting her know that she’d just found parking and would try to hurry. She would message her when she was leaving. Rose sent a quick response back and turned back to Yoongi. She was met with his open eyes. “Jesus!” She yelped, falling back on her butt. “Nope. Still Yoongi.” Yoongi playfully replied, his voice gravelly with sleep. He adjusted himself so his whole body was facing her. “You scared the hell outta me.” She playfully smacked his arm. “Mm. That’s what you get for staring at me while I’m sleeping. Creeper.” “Yah...” His face broke out in his gummy smile. He scooted back from the edge of the bed and patted the empty space in front of him. Rose stood up. “Nope. You have to get up. Don’t pout at me!” Yoongi’s face changed from his cute pout back to his gummy smile. “If we don’t leave soon, they’re gonna think something’s up.” “So? They can think whatever they want. I finally get to call you my girlfriend, but I haven’t seen you in a week. I want to cuddle.” “Oh my gosh. Your fans would never believe you have this side to you.” “Whatever. Just get over here.” Yoongi leaned up and grabbed her arm, pulling her onto the bed. She let out a small squeak. Her back was to him and he wrapped his arms around her. After a few seconds, he spoke up. “Nope. This isn’t going to work. Face me.” Rose stifled a giggle and made a sound like she was annoyed with him. “If you don’t turn, I’ll turn you myself,” he whispered suggestively in her ear. A small shiver ran down her body. “I guess you want me to.” She quickly turned herself to face him. The room was only barely lit by the light coming through the curtains, but Yoongi could still see the blush on her face. “That’s no fun.” Rose laughed. “So Jimin’s the obvious perv, and you’re the closet perv?” “What? No! Not—that’s not—“ The look on his face was too much and Rose burst out laughing again. “I was just messin’.” Yoongi smiled again. His left hand came up and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. “A month ago, I would've never thought I’d have the chance to do that.” Rose smiled lovingly. “Well, now you have the chance to do a lot of things.” “That I do.” By the time Rose’s phone pinged with another message from Nina, the two were already asleep. Even the doorbell 15 minutes later didn’t wake them. Nina was greeted in a similar fashion to Rose. After a chaste peck on the cheek from Jin she asked, “Where’s Rose?” “She’s been in Yoongi-hyung’s room since she got here.” Jimin’s tone was suggestive. “Hey, perv boy, my girl is not that.” She ruffled his hair with more force than usual. “Knowing her—and his, what’s it, reputation—they are probably both sleeping.” “I still don’t understand!” Jungkook spoke to Taehyung. “Why do you guys never tell me anything?” “You don’t need to know, Kookie,” Jin patted his head. Nina opened the bedroom door. “See? Sleeping. And with all their clothes on.” The younger boys popped their heads in. “Why wouldn’t they...Oh.” Jungkook’s face turned pink. “Should we let them sleep?” Taehyung asked. “Nope.” Nina stated and walked into the room to wake them up. While she was doing this, Namjoon came out of his room. He stopped when he saw the crowd in front of the room. “What’re you guys doing? You want him to kill you?” Namjoon asked. “Check the time.” Namjoon did and realized that Rose and Nina must’ve come. “Oh,” he laughed. “We lost track of time.” Hoseok came out of the room next. He did pretty much the same thing as Namjoon. “What—“ “Nina and Rose are here,” Jin replied. “Yeah, but why are they all at my and Yoongi-hyung’s room?” Jin gave Namjoon a look but Jimin, who didn’t see it answered, “Rose-noona fell asleep with hyung so Nina-noona is waking them up.” Hoseok’s mouth twitched downward almost imperceptibly. “Oh, ok. We’re still gonna watch movies, right? I’ll go pop some popcorn.” Hoseok quickly excused himself to the kitchen. Jimin had already turned his attention back to the funny scene of Nina dodging Rose’s attempts to smack her. Jin and Namjoon exchanged looks and sighed. A couple minutes later, the crowd broke up so that everyone could make their way to the couches in the living room. Rose sat next to Yoongi in a way that they weren’t snuggling but were still close. Yoongi had told her that he didn’t want to make the other guys uncomfortable with being so close, but his real reason was for Hoseok. When Hoseok came into the living room with the first bag popped, he saw the two of them. “Aren’t you guys supposed to be a couple?” He asked them. “Huh?” Rose responded. “You two should be cuddled up or something, not sitting like you two did before.” Yoongi’s eyes were wide and he looked over to Namjoon who looked equally surprised. “Ah. We just didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable.” “We’re all adults. Well, I’m not sure about Kookie—“ “Hey!” “—but it’s not like you’re making out anyway. Even those two look closer than you.” Hoseok indicated to Jin and Nina who were the next step from cuddling. “Plus, we’re always busy with schedules. You should make the most out of your time.” Yoongi could see a small hint of sadness on Hoseok’s face, but for the most part, he looked genuinely happy for them. “And anyway, you need to make room for me.” He pushed Namjoon over into Rose who was pushed into Yoongi. “That’s where I’m sitting.” Yoongi gave a small look of appreciation to Hoseok who responded with a wide smile. Yoongi moved his arm to wrap around Rose’s shoulder and pulled her closer to him. The microwave beeped in the kitchen indicating that the next bag was finished. Hoseok left to move the popcorn along. “So are we gonna pick a movie or what?” Jimin asked, his hand already reaching for the popcorn. Namjoon smacked his hand and told him to wait for everyone. “So what kind of movie should we watch?” Jin asked, his arm reflecting Yoongi’s and curling around Nina. “Romance” “Comedy” “Horror” “Action” “Anime” “Ugh!” The older ones sighed together. This would take a while. ******** So, there it is, the epilogue, the final part, of the Too Much series. I hope you enjoyed it. It wasn't much, but I wanted to add a little cuteness and sweetness to the story. Plus, I also wanted to help show that Hoseok, while not jubilant, is doing alright, that he will get better. He really gave me the feels this story. So thank you all for joining me on this journey, I had a lot of fun. Plus, I got to write something that wasn't essays, term papers, research papers, or other similarly non-fun school work for the first time in 6ish years. So thank you guys for encouraging me even just by simply reading the story. So thank you, truly. And below is the teaser or whatever for my next story. It's from two different, though related, sections of the first chapter so it does jump. And don't worry, the whole story isn't going to be like the first part, that's just the beginning. WARNING: This story and the small section below does contain some language and very little sensuality. It won't ever get too heavy on the last part because I'm just plain not comfortable with writing that. “Mmm. Perfect. You’ll do.” The knife went back to her throat as his free hand groped one of her breasts. She closed her eyes and just prayed to God or whoever was listening that it would be as quick and painless as possible. His tongue slid across her collarbone sending a disgusted shudder throughout her body, causing the knife to barely cut her skin. “Hey!” A voice yelled from the street where she had just been dragged from. Both hers and the man’s attention turned towards the lone man whose breathing seemed to indicate that he had run there. “The fuck do you think you’re doing?” “I suggest you leave before I cut you.” The man sneered. He was obviously not intimidated by just one man. He turned his attention back to her, the sneer still on his face. “Jesus, hyung. Why did you run like—“ The second man’s voice stopped as he saw the same scene. He was still huffing to catch his breath. “The fuck? You’ve got to be kidding me.” A second later, five more men caught up to the first two. “What’s the matt—“ the third voice cut off. With the appearance of the other men, the man with the knife finally stopped and turned his full attention to the newcomers. He took the blade and brandished it towards them. “Back off. This is none of your business.” The previous arrogance and spite in his voice was replaced by fear. When the men advanced, he was quick to turn the blade back to her throat. “Back off or I’ll slit her throat.” The first man who arrived spoke up. “No you won’t. I suggest you let her go and give yourself a head start before we get over there and take care of you ourselves.” The streetlight was behind him so his face was shrouded in shadows, but his voice resonated with authority. The eyes of the man with the knife flickered back and forth between her and the men who were slowly, but steadily, approaching. “I’d run if I were you,” her second savior warned. . . . ***later*** . . “Oh, we should probably introduce ourselves. I’m Seokjin, but you can just call me Jin,” her first savior said. “This is—“ “Hoseok,” her second savior cut in as he gave her a beaming smile. The one carrying her backpack was the next to answer. “I’m Jimin,” he smiled gently at her. She smiled back. “I’m Taehyung,” the hyper one piped up. His voice was surprisingly deep considering how old he looked. “I’m Yoongi,” said the blonde man who had asked if she wanted them to call the police. She was also pretty sure that he was the one who had spoken up when the whole group ran to the first two. “I’m Namjoon.” This was the other blonde one who had said that they wouldn’t call after she snapped at them. He had deep dimples that were even more prominent in the strange lighting. The last one to answer was the one who had asked if she was hurt after she had burst into tears, “I’m Jungkook.” She made sure to run through their names several times to try to keep them straight. They looked to her, silently asking her name. “I’m Jiyoung.” So this is an excerpt from the first chapter. I may change things a bit as I write more of the story. But the synopsis is this: Jiyoung lost her parents, and her memory, in an accident when she was very young. After her grandparents, who took care of her for a while, passed away, she is adopted into a family. After a long time, she finally mustered up the courage to escape from that home because staying would mean losing the rest of herself. She tries to find her aunt, her last biological family. It is then that she runs into the man above. The guys save her. She has no money so the chaebol friends offer her a place to stay with them. The sister of two of the members also lives with them and becomes Jiyoung’s first friend in a long time. In an almost uncanny way, Jiyoung and the guys become fast friends. One of the members falls for her at first sight and another member is fast on his heels. And Jiyoung also starts to fall for someone. Jiyoung reminds another of them of the sister he lost in an accident when he was a child. Everyone says that she died, but he refuses to give up completely until they find her body. And there’s just something about Jiyoung that stirs up those long-lost brotherly feelings. As time goes on, what will happen to all of their feelings? Tensions will rise and fall. And the experiences during the time Jiyoung was adopted haunts her present in every way. Can the guys help her to overcome her fears and insecurities? Or will the pain of her yesterdays hold her back from reaching her full potential? Sorry for the lame teaser. I really suck at writing synopses. Fortunately, my story writing skills are apparently at least marginally better than my summary writing skills. It will be a while until the story comes out, due to work and my OCD editing, but I hope you look forward to it. My initial tagging list will include people who asked me to tag them in my ‘Too Much’ story. Please let me know if you would like to be tagged or untagged for the next story. I haven't decided on a name for it yet, though I have a couple ideas. Credit to @Mavis2478 for the story line. Until next time, thank you all for reading ‘Too Much’. It was a fun adventure for me and I hope it was for you also. Tag List <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 @AdeleLynn @Mavis2478 @mrsax2018 @JaxomB @chisom756 @Izzy987 @NadineEsquivel @LunaFergus
Too Much Final-Chapter 37: Last Chance
Hey guys! I can't believe it's already the last chapter! I hope you've enjoyed the little roller coaster trip, I know I have. Thank you guys for sticking with me for all of this. So, here's the last chapter. And like the title said, this is the last chance for Yoongi and Rose. It's make or break time. Disclaimer: Many of the characters aside from BTS are made up. And, of course, I don't know BTS personally so their personalities are probably mostly fictional. Character thoughts are in { }. Please forgive me for any mistakes I make. Without further ado... I hope you enjoy! Too Much Beginning: Chapter 1 Previous: Chapter 36 Word Count: 2165 Warning: May contain mild language. Rose POV “Noona...” My head bolted upright when I heard Yoongi’s voice. I stared at him not knowing what to do. {Why is he back? What’s he going to think about this? What’s going to happen now?} I quickly stuffed the sheep into the corner of the couch and struggled to untangle the necklace from my hand. I finally managed to get it off. I stood up and wiped at the tears I knew I couldn’t hide. “Why—why are you crying?” {Why did he have to sound so concerned?} “What are you doing here? I heard you leave.” Yoongi took a step towards me, his eyes never leaving mine, and I couldn’t look away. “Why are you crying?” He took another step towards me. It was like I had no control over my body, I still couldn’t move. “Are you that sick? Are you in pain?” {Yes I am, but not for the reason you’re suggesting}. The spell finally broke and I was able to move. “I was in pain. But don’t worry about it, I took the medicine.” “Liar.” He took another step. He was almost to the couch now. “Why are you crying?” “I’m not crying anymore. So please, just leave.” Another step. Now he was only a step away from me. “Just because the tears aren’t falling doesn’t mean you’re not crying.” I felt my chest tighten again. The sound of his soothing voice...The way he spoke so lovingly...it was killing me. I felt the tears start to fall again. “See?” Another step. He was right in front of me. His hand reached up and held my face, his thumb wiping away the trail of the tears. My eyes fluttered close. I’d waited so long to feel something like this and I couldn’t help the sigh that escaped my lips. “Please tell me...” Yoongi’s voice sounded so desperate. “I—“ I cut myself off and opened my eyes. I didn’t want to lie to him anymore, but I couldn’t tell the truth. I saw his gaze travel down to the couch. Yoongi leaned forward and I took a step back. He reached down and grabbed the items I’d been holding. “I didn’t know you still had this,” Yoongi’s voice cracked. “It was just some stupid doll. I didn’t think...” He turned his attention to the necklace. I could see the tears welling up in his eyes. {Why?} “Did it help?” I was confused for a second until I figured out he was talking about the dreamcatcher itself. “For a time,” I answered. {It’s now or never....Last chance}. “When...when my good luck charm was there too.” He looked up at me. His eyes looked...hopeful? “This isn’t your good luck charm?” He looked slightly disappointed and slightly hopeful. “No, that’s my dreamcatcher.” I grasped the fingers of the hand holding the necklace. “This...you...you’re my—“ I took in a deep breath, “You are my g-good luck charm.” And then it was silent. I watched as the thoughts raced through his head. He was probably thinking of a way to reject me without hurting me. “N-never mind. I didn’t expect—I mean—just pretend I didn’t say anything.” I grabbed at the necklace and doll. “What about Namjoon?” Yoongi didn’t loosen his grip on either of the two items. “What about him?!” He was driving me crazier. Why did he bring up Namjoon? “What does Namjoon have to do with any of this?!” I was afraid I was starting to sound hysterical. “Aren’t you two...” Yoongi’s eyes searched mine desperately. “Aren’t we wh—“ That really was the reason why he’d been ignoring me before? He thought I was taken? “Oh, did you think—that we—Namjoon and I—together—d-dating” I stuttered. “We’re not. W-we never were. We’re not like that. J-just friends. I don’t like him like that and he doesn’t like me like that either. But even if he did... I couldn’t return his feelings. Because...” I looked down at our hands, unable to handle his gaze anymore. “Because I’m—i-i-in l-love w-with y-you.” Yoongi’s hands let go of the necklace and doll. {That’s it. This is when he says sorry. I really have lost him}. I was startled when I felt his hand gently lift my chin, forcing me to look at him. “Say it again.” “We’re just fri—“ “Not that part. The last part.” “I-I’m in love with you.” “Again.” My heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest. “Yoongi—“ “Please.” His tone was so desperate that I couldn’t say no. This time, I spoke confidently, keeping myself from stuttering. “I’m in love with you.” A wide, gummy smile broke out on his face. The wind gushed out of me as he pulled me in for a tight hug. “You don’t know...how happy that makes me.” I could hear the happiness in his voice. “Then you...feel the same?” I asked. I had to ask because it felt like a dream. There was no way he could reciprocate my feelings. Yoongi pulled back from the hug, hands still on my shoulders. “No.” My heart dropped. He smiled wider. “I definitely love you more.” “Yah!” I punched him in the chest. He let out a small cry of pain and let go of my shoulders, rubbing the spot where I hit him. “That’s not okay. Do you know how much you just scared me?! This whole time, I knew you couldn’t be in love with me, then you say it makes you happy, making me crazy happy, and then you say you don’t feel the same? You almost made me start crying again.” Yoongi chuckled. “I’m sorry.” His hands caressed my cheeks. “I don’t know why I did that. I just couldn’t help it.” He smiled again. His smile had always driven me crazy and here it was all for me. Telling me he loved me. Something I’d been dreaming about for two years but that I didn’t think was possible. His smile slowly dropped and I saw his gaze flickering between my eyes and my lips. “Can I...” he leaned closer. “Please,” I whispered, my eyes closing. His lips met mine and my whole body was on fire. It was a chaste kiss and he slowly pulled back, my eyes fluttering open. I didn’t want it to end so soon. His gaze was still fixed on my lips. This time, I initiated the kiss. His lips felt so soft and perfect against mine. Then he deepened the kiss. I felt his tongue gently run across my lips and I immediately parted them. One hand cupped the side of my face and the other snaked around my waist, pulling me in closer. I gripped his shoulders and the kiss became heated. His hand moved from my face to the back of my neck and he pulled me impossibly closer. I don’t know how long it continued. I was broken from my trance when he stopped and slowly pulled away, forehead resting against mine, noses touching. I waited for my heart to slow down before opening my eyes. My eyes met his smoldering gaze. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to go so fast. It’s just...” I slowly shook my head, our forehead rubbing together making us do little eskimo kisses. “It was perfect. Better than I dreamed.” “You dreamed of this?” His eyes and voice teased me. “You didn’t?” He chuckled. “You got me there.” Yoongi moved and pulled me back into a hug. His chin resting on my shoulder, he said, “Thank you.” “For what?” “For loving me back.” I was so content just to be held by him. “I should be the one saying that. Nina’s been on my case for the last two years, trying to set me up with guys she knew. Then I actually met you guys and she kept telling me that I finally had a shot. Of course, I didn’t believe her...but here we are.” “Wait.” He pulled back and looked me in the eyes. “Two years?” I blushed. “W-well, before, it was just a crush. You know, like an innocent crush people have on celebrities? When I first heard BTS, I liked you, or I guess the public version of you. Fans only get to see bits and pieces of a celebrities’ life. So I guess, I had a crush on Suga for a long time. Then I fell for Min Yoongi.” His gummy smile came out again. “You had a crush on Suga enough that Nina-noona had to try to set you up with guys?” I felt my blush darken. Then his smile dropped. “Actually, I don’t think I like talking about you dating other guys.” I giggled. “You’re cute when you’re jealous, Yoongi-ah. But if it makes you feel any better, I never dated any of them. A few times, Nina tricked me into meeting them for one date, but I was never interested in them past that. Actually...” I hesitated. {Another puzzle piece, right?} “I’ve never dated...like at all. I-I’ve never had a boyfriend.” Yoongi’s smile returned. “Before.” I looked at him questioningly. “Before. You’ve never had a boyfriend before. That means I’m your first.” How much more could I possibly blush. “So...you’re my boyfriend...now?” Yoongi opened his mouth to respond before he came to a realization. “Ah. I didn’t actually ask. I should make it official, right?” He looked at me in a way that made my heart flutter violently again. “Rose-noona...Christina...” my heart stuttered, “Will you be my girlfriend?” I had to break my body out of its frozen state. “Y-yes. Of course.” “Yes!” he jumped up and pumped his fists in the air taking me completely by surprise. “What?” he asked, noticing the look I was giving him. “Nothing. That was just...unexpected. That was very Taehyung of you.” “Yah! Don’t use other guys to describe me.” I giggled again and gave him a quick peck on the lips. “There’s no need to be jealous anymore. I’m yours and only yours. And I won’t be jealous of all the girls you’re around. Because you’re mine and only mine. Just, no more kisses from them, ok?” He laughed and nodded his head in agreement. We both sat down on the couch. “Wait. I just realized something. Nina-noona said it before...was this...was I...your first kiss?” I flushed furiously. “So it was! I was!” “Shut it,” I said and playfully pushed him away. “Alright, alright,” he laughed. Yoongi leaned forward and grabbed the sheep and necklace I had dropped when he had pulled me into a hug the first time. He held up the sheep and smiled before setting it on my lap. He spent a couple minutes patiently untangling the necklace. I couldn’t help myself from staring at his fingers while he worked. Something about them really...mm. “If you don’t stop biting your lip like that, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to control myself.” Startled, I looked up at him, my cheeks turning pink again. He laughed, apparently pleased with himself. I huffed and pretended to pout, making him laugh even more. “Now who’s acting like Taehyung?” We both burst out laughing. Yoongi unclasped the necklace. When his fingers brushed over the crook of my neck, goosebumps broke out on my whole body and I had bite back a gasp and fight to keep myself from shivering. Our relationship was just starting and I didn’t want to go too fast, not for a long while. And I didn’t want to accidentally give him the wrong impression or lead him on. Yoongi finished with the clasp and pulled back, his eyes staring into mine. I think he saw some of what he was doing to me. He seemed to feel the same as I did, though, because he pulled away and laid back against the couch. He looked at me and pulled me to him. Without a thought, I curled up on him. I quickly realized what I had just done. “Sorry,” I said pulling my legs off of his thighs. I felt extremely embarrassed. “No.” Yoongi reacted quickly, putting his hands under my knees and pulling them back across his lap. “I like it. We can finally cuddle.” He gave me a sweet smile and I relaxed. His smiles would be the death of me. I rested my head on his chest and his head turned to rest against mine. He smelled so good. We sighed simultaneously which made us both laugh. “Can we stay like this for a while?” I asked. “It’s so comfortable, I think I’m gonna fall asleep.” “Mm, me too,” he mumbled. He already sounded halfway there. I snuggled into him and his arms held me tighter. It felt so warm and comfortable. I’d been dreaming that this would happen, but I never thought this would actually be possible. I felt myself slowly drifting towards the darkness of sleep. And with Yoongi here, I could finally welcome it. So, guys, was it sappy enough for you? I rather prefer the sugar (Suga?) sweet endings. I hope it was what you were hoping for. If not, I apologize. Thank you guys for reading my story and taking this journey with me. I don't want to say too much now because then it'll just sound like I'm copying myself when I publish the epilogue tomorrow. It's not a big chapter by any means. Just a small something. With the epilogue, I will also be adding a small teaser and synopsis for my next story. It will take me a while to finish it, but I hope you can look forward to it as much as you looked forward to these chapters. I was also vaguely considering writing a part 2/season 2 for this story. There are some story lines that popped into my head that I was thinking I might use, but I'm not sure if writing a part 2 would kind of ruin it the way that many sequels ruin their original movies. Instead, I may use those plot points in a completely different story. Let me know your opinion. Okay, enough of my rambling. Please look forward to the epilogue tomorrow. I will miss you guys for a while while I work on my next story. Thank you all for reading my story. Thank you for liking, commenting, clipping, and following. It really let me know that you guys enjoyed it. It was very encouraging. Tag List <3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3 @AdeleLynn @Mavis2478 @mrsax2018 @JaxomB @chisom756 @Izzy987 @NadineEsquivel @LunaFergus

What if I didn’t see what I thought I saw? What if it’s all just wishful thinking? But then...why did she leave like that?} I hurried out of the building and jogged in the direction of Rose’s house. Fortunately, the party was at a building close to both the dorm and Rose’s house, maybe half an hour either way. There were a couple paths she could’ve taken home. If she was really sick, she would’ve taken the most direct path home, but if she was trying to clear her mind, she would’ve taken a more…scenic route. I stood at the crossroads: one path was all streets that would lead to her house, the other path curved off and led to a large park before reaching her house. I decided to take a chance and took the path towards the park. By the time I reached the edge of the park, I still hadn’t seen Rose. Either I hadn’t caught up to her yet or she had taken the other path. I continued through the park. I was halfway through when I saw a shadow of a person just leaving the park and turning right. Was it her? I picked up my speed. When I reached the exit, I couldn’t see the person anymore. I turned right. Hoping it was Rose, I followed my GPS through a neighborhood to her house. Right when I reached the end of her street, I saw her walking down the walkway to her house. She reached the door and, with the light of the porchlight, I saw her start digging through her purse. {She must be looking for her keys}. I walked down the street, trying to give myself time to catch my breath and gather my thoughts. Just a house away, I saw her lean against the door and slide down to the floor, head in her hands. “Noona,” I called quietly. Rose’s head raised up as she searched for the voice. I couldn’t help but smile at the cute, confused expression on her face. When she finally saw me, she stood up, clutching her purse tightly. “Y-yoongi-ah.” The sound of her voice sent small butterflies fluttering in my stomach. I walked to the porch. “I was looking for you at the party,” I said trying to steady my voice. The small amount of hope I had had washed away what little anger was left and replaced it with uncertainty and fearful anticipation. “So you followed me home? Why—no, how did you know I even left?” Rose fidgeted nervously, fingers playing with the few tassels on her purse. “I ran into Namjoon and he told me.” My attention flickered back and forth between her eyes that refused to meet mine and her fingers that were still pulling on her purse. The look that passed on her face told me that she wasn’t happy with what I told her. I felt the hope beginning to trickle away. “But...why did you follow me?” Her fidgeting became more prominent. “Namjoon said you weren’t feeling well. I wanted to make sure you were okay.” “Well, as you can see, I’ll live. You should get back to h—your party.” She was going to say ‘her’. That hope surged back. Maybe she felt sick watching me with another girl which meant that she was jealous. And if she was jealous, that meant she had feelings for me, right? “Do you at least want your keys?” I held out the keys Nina had given me. Rose’s eyes grew wide and she snatched the keys out of my palm. “Where did you get—Nina, right?” She was not happy. I nodded my head. Rose muttered something under her breath. “Well, now I have my keys. You should go back.” She turned from me to unlock the door. Her hands were shaking making it difficult to slide the key in. I grabbed her hand to steady it and heard her take a sharp breath. I guided the key into the slot and let go. She mumbled a quick thank you and unlocked the door, opening it. She stepped in and tried to close the door behind her. I put my foot in the way. “What are you doing?” “You’re sick. I’m going to make sure you get settled and take some medicine.” Her hand did feel warm when I had grabbed it. “Yoongi—“ I gently nudged the door open and stepped in. I put one hand to her forehead and one hand to mine. She was really warm. And with the cool night air, she shouldn’t be that warm. “I think you have a fever.” “I’m fine!” Rose’s face was flushed a bright red. Maybe it was from the fever, but part of me hoped it was from blushing. “Stop arguing and just go lay down. I’ll bring you some medicine and water. Where do you keep your medicine?” By now, I had taken off my shoes and slipped on the guest slippers. I started walking to the kitchen. I heard her hurriedly trying to take off her shoes. “Yoongi!” Rose ran after me and grabbed my arm. “Just go. You don’t need to take care of me. I can do it myself.” The constant fluctuation of hope and disappointment was starting to bring out my temper. “Stop being so stubborn! You always tell people you can take care of yourself, but all it does is make everyone else worried.” Her eyes finally met mine. I could see the surprise, anxiety, fear, and something else I couldn’t read. “I—Why—why would you worry about me?” Her eyes changed and her voice hardened. “I know you heard me before. That I can’t stand being around you. That I don’t even want to hear your voice. So why are you here?” I flinched at her words. {Why is she doing this? Why is she trying to hurt me? Did I really read everything completely wrong?} I walked into the kitchen and gripped the counter. “Just tell me where the medicine is and then go to bed. I’ll bring it and then I’ll leave, okay?” I spoke, barely managing to unclench my jaw. I heard her let out a shaky sigh, tell me which cabinet, and then leave. After I heard her slow footsteps on the stairs and then heard them fade down the hallway, I let go of my death grip on the counter. Just a few minutes ago, I was excited to see her, now all I wanted to do was get out of here. I grabbed a glass, filled it, pulled out the medicine bottle, shook a couple pills out, and carried it all towards the stairs. I paused just before reaching living room. {She’ll probably be hungry later...} She would need something with sustenance but that wouldn’t be too heavy. I went back and grabbed a package of crackers. {What the hell’s wrong with me? I should be mad at her}. Maybe it was because she was sick. Namjoon was right, when I first saw her, I should’ve seen that something was wrong. Dark circles under her eyes that were now showing even through the makeup and she looked thinner. Rose was already thin to begin with, so this definitely was not good for her. I carried everything up the stairs and down the hall. I stopped at the study, my eyes roaming over the door wishing I could turn back time. I stopped again just outside her room and stared at the bedroom she had let me sleep in. I felt the last of my anger fade away. I was just too tired to be angry now. The rapid cycling between hope and disappointment was finally taking its toll on me. I entered Rose’s room and saw her lying on the bed, over the covers, clothes from the party still on. She sat up at my entrance. I set the items down on her bedside table. “For the fever,” I said indicating to the pills and water, “and in case you get hungry later,” I indicated to the crackers. Rose didn’t look at me. “Just...get some rest. People are worried about you.” I turned to leave. I made it to the door when I heard her say a quiet “Thank you.” I just made a noise of acknowledgement and left. I walked to the entryway to put on my shoes. I didn’t feel angry or sad...I didn’t feel much of anything, just a sense of resignation. I walked out, closing the door behind me. {I guess I should go back to the party}. I was halfway down the street when I reached into my pocket to message Namjoon. That’s when I realized that I still had Rose’s phone. {Great, now I have to go back}. I turned back. {I’ll just leave it on the coffee table in the living room}. I didn’t want to make her get up so I just walked back into her house. Slippers on, I started to walk to the coffee table. I set the phone down when I heard a strange noise. I looked to the second floor and saw light coming out from what had to be Rose’s study. I strained to hear what the noise was. It...it sounded like crying. {Did something happen? Is she okay?} I quickly rushed up the stairs. As I got closer, I could hear the crying more clearly. I stopped in the doorway of the study and froze at the sight. Rose had changed clothes and was now sitting on her couch, knees drawn up to her chest. She was crying, her face buried in the fur of a stuffed animal, something daggling from her hand. I took a closer look and felt my heart skip a beat. The stuffed animal was the sheep I had won for her at the amusement park. I didn’t even realize she still had it. And the thing in her hand, it was a silver necklace, the pendant shaking from the force of her crying body. The pendant. A dreamcatcher. The necklace I had given her. {Why...} “Noona...” Her head shot up at the sound of my intruding voice. She stared at me, her red-rimmed eyes filled with tears and wide with fear. Rose POV I shouldn’t have been affected by that sight. He was Suga, of course he could get any girl he wanted. And what little I could see, she was quite pretty. Probably exactly his type. And yet, here I was walking home after having given Namjoon the excuse of not feeling well in order to escape. It was true that I wasn’t feeling so great before, but I could’ve handled it if ‘that’ hadn’t happened. But it did, so I used my excuse. I stopped at the street where I would normally continue straight to go home. If I turned left, though, I could walk through the park. That would give me a good opportunity to clear my head. I turned left. The park was almost deserted. There were a few couples and a family or two here and there. Watching the couples, with their hands clasped tightly together, made me feel a little jealous. And I hated that. I’d never really felt compelled to date before, so now that I fell for someone, it of course had to be for someone who was out of my reach. Walking through the park, while irritating, did provide me with the time to think about everything. I concluded that I was an idiot. I was stupid for thinking that I could just will myself to get over him. I didn’t know how long it would take for that to happen, but I was hoping it would be soon. Like I told Namjoon, it hurt to see him, listen to his voice, even to hear other people talking about him. But more than anything, it tore me apart to see him with someone else. I wished I could be the type of person to be happy with his happiness, but I couldn’t be. The walk through the park didn’t last long enough as far as I was concerned. I turned right and headed through the neighborhood. I was still lost in thought by the time I reached my house. I walked to the porch and started digging through my purse, looking for my keys. I started to panic when I couldn’t find them, thinking that I lost them. But then I remembered that because Nina and I were going together, I had decided to not bring my keys. {Great}. I reached for my phone before realizing that Nina hadn’t given it back before I left. I let my back fall against the door and slid down to the ground. I had to will myself to not start crying again. “Noona.” Now I was hearing things. There was no way that was Yoongi’s voice. I looked up and turned to where I heard the voice come from and saw him. I stood up slowly, trying to keep my legs from shaking too much. “Y-yoongi-ah.” I breathed out his name. He walked to the porch. “I was looking for you at the party,” he said. {Why? So you could rub it in my face?} “So you followed me home? Why—no, how did you know I even left?” I couldn’t keep from fidgeting. I couldn’t meet his eyes. “I ran into Namjoon and he told me.” {What the hell, Namjoon?} “But...why did you follow me?” I was afraid of the answer. “Namjoon said you weren’t feeling well. I wanted to make sure you were okay.” {I had to make an effort to not roll my eyes}. “Well, as you can see, I’ll live. You should get back to h—your party.” I almost slipped up and said ‘her’. I hoped he hadn’t caught that. “Do you at least want your keys?” Yoongi held out a keyring. {How the hell—} I snatched it from his hands. “Where did you get—Nina, right?” I was pissed. Namjoon and Nina were both screwing with me. Yoongi nodded his head. “Her and her games,” I muttered to myself. To Yoongi, I said, “Well, now I have my keys. You should go back.” I turned to unlock the door. I couldn’t stop the shaking in my hand as I tried to put the key in. My breath hitched when Yoongi grabbed my hand. My heart was racing. I hated that he affected me so much. Yoongi helped guide the key into the slot and let go. “Thank you,” I mumbled and opened the door. I stepped in and went to close the door behind me. Yoongi stuck his foot in the way. “What are you doing?” I asked. “You’re sick. I’m going to make sure you get settled and take some medicine.” {You don’t have to pretend to care}. “Yoongi—“ He pushed the door open and stepped in. I didn’t think my heart could go any faster until he put a hand on my forehead and his other hand on his. He was actually checking my temperature. “I think you have a fever.” “I’m fine!” I could feel my face flush. I hoped he thought it was because of the fever he seemed to think I had. “Stop arguing and just go lay down.” Was it so wrong for me to think about how sexy his voice sounded right now? “I’ll bring you some medicine and water. Where do you keep your medicine?” I didn’t even realize he had changed his shoes until he started to the kitchen. I fumbled with the straps on my sandals, trying to take them off as quickly as I could. “Yoongi!” I ran after him and grabbed his arm. {The longer this went on, the more it would hurt me}. “Just go. You don’t need to take care of me. I can do it myself.” “Stop being so stubborn!” he snapped. “You always tell people you can take care of yourself, but all it does is make everyone else worried.” {Why did he have to say things like that? Making it sound like he was worried too?} I finally brought up the nerve to look him in the eyes. “I—Why—why would you worry about me?” This can’t continue. I took in a breath and forced my anger to come out. “I know you heard me before. That I can’t stand being around you. That I don’t even want to hear your voice. So why are you here?” I saw him flinch and my heart clenched. Yoongi walked over by the kitchen sink. I watched as his knuckles turned white from the grip he had on the counter. I guessed I was finally getting under his skin. “Just tell me where the medicine is and then go to bed. I’ll bring it and then I’ll leave, okay?” I let out a sigh. I told him which cabinet and then I left. My body felt heavy as I walked to my room. I sat on my bed and let myself fall back. My thoughts raced through my head. I wanted to make him stay and I wanted to make him leave. I loved that he was taking care of me and I hated him for it. My heart was soaring and falling apart. I didn’t know how I felt. A couple minutes later, I heard his footsteps down the hall. They stopped for a moment before continuing again and then stopping again. {What is he doing?} Finally, he came to my room. I sat up and he set some things down on the side table. A glass of water, a couple pills, and...crackers? “For the fever,” Yoongi said gesturing to the pills and water, “and in case you get hungry later,” he gestured to the crackers. With my thoughts still jumbled, I couldn’t bring myself to look at him. I was afraid he would be able to see what I was thinking. “Just... get some rest. People are worried about you.” I wished he wouldn’t say that. I so badly wanted him to mean ‘I’m worried about you’. He walked back to the door. “Thank you.” I managed to say. He just grunted at me and left. I waited until I heard him leave. I didn’t want to be in the damn dress any longer so I quickly took it off and threw it on the bed. I grabbed a pair of sweats that were sitting out and one of my baggy shirts. It was going to be one of those nights. I tossed the dress towards my laundry basket and noticed something silver fly with it. I pulled the dress out and saw a necklace fall. I picked up the necklace. And then burst into tears. The fucking necklace I threw on the bed before the party. The one he gave me. I ran to my study, necklace still wrapped around my hand. I flipped on the lights and dug through the pile of blankets I hadn’t washed yet. There it was. The stupid, adorable stuffed sheep Yoongi had given to me at the amusement park. I fell onto the couch, pulling my knees up to my chest. I buried my face in the doll and started sobbing even harder. I was so in love with him and it hurt so much. I didn’t know how long I cried for until I was interrupted. “Noona...” My head bolted upright when I heard his voice. I stared at him not knowing what to do. {Why is he back? What’s he going to think about this? What’s going to happen now?} So what do you think? Is it ok to have one last cliffhanger? Don't hate me, lol. Yoongi's cute when he wants to be. Other times, he's quite frustrating. Both of them are. So what do you think? Will Rose kick him out without an explanation. Will Yoongi be able to finally find out how she feels? The last chapter will tell you. So I hope you look forward. I'm very happy to have been on this journey with all of you guys. Thanks for being awesome. Too Much Chapter 35: Party Antics
Hello peoples, chapter 35 is here. We're back to the main storyline. The next few chapters are part of the last story arc for my little (maybe not so little) story. So it's almost over. Tears to be had and all that. I can now tell you that there are 37 regular chapters. Because of the feedback and how much people seem to like the story, I wanted to thank you guys by adding an epilogue of sorts to hopefully make everyone feel better (not spoiling the ending). I'm sure you're all very happy for it to come to a resolution anyway, lol. I hope it turns out the way you want it to. For now, here's the chapter. Disclaimer: Many of the characters aside from BTS are made up. And, of course, I don't know BTS personally so their personalities are probably mostly fictional. Character thoughts are in { } and words in English are bolded. Let me know if you would like to be tagged in the few future chapters. Please forgive me for any mistakes I make and I hope you enjoy! Too Much Beginning: Chapter 1 Previous: Chapter 34 Word Count: 3477 Warning: Contains mild language Narrator POV For the next two weeks, Namjoon kept trying to convince Yoongi to hear him out. Two of their new music videos had just dropped and A.R.M.Y.s were clamoring for more. The guys didn’t want to disappoint so they worked their asses off to send the next one out. This allowed Yoongi an easy escape from Namjoon. Every time Namjoon tried to talk to Yoongi, Yoongi would say that he had a song to check again, he had to practice, he was going to sleep, that he had something to work on. It annoyed Namjoon to no end. Namjoon felt that if Yoongi would just give him a chance to explain, that everything would work out for them. Namjoon heard through Jin, who he was certain was dating Nina, that Nina was trying to convince Rose to talk to Yoongi. Namjoon started to directly message Nina in order to find out specifics. According to Nina, Rose was drowning herself in work. Rose was going several days without sleeping and was only intermittently eating. With everything piling up on BTS, Namjoon barely had a chance to breathe, let alone check on Rose. And he felt horrible about it. He texted her, but she always said the same things: ‘I’m fine’, ‘Just caught up in work’, ‘Don’t worry’, and ‘Of course I’m eating’. He knew that she didn’t like to lie, so she was probably justifying her small snacks as ‘eating’, and working all day and night as ‘caught up in work’. Yoongi was eating because the other members forced him to eat, telling him he had to keep himself together for the fans. But the dark circles under his eyes were more prominent than everyone else’s and they were getting to the point that it was starting to become harder to cover with makeup. Namjoon was worried for the both of them. This didn’t keep Yoongi from avoiding Namjoon. He knew the younger one wanted to say something about the conversation he overheard, but Yoongi didn’t want to hear excuses. He’d heard enough. ‘Every time I’m around him, it hurts. Every time I look at him, it hurts. Every time he speaks, it hurts. Every time I hear him on the damn radio, it hurts. I had to take all BTS songs off my iPod because I couldn’t stand to hear his voice! So please, just stop. I can’t do it anymore.’ Then sobbing. Yoongi wished he’d known about how she felt before he’d gotten so broken up about her. Before he’d gotten his hopes up again. There was a knock on the bedroom door and then it was opened. Namjoon walked in. Yoongi sighed as he sat up and started towards the door. “I’m not here to talk about Rose,” Namjoon said. Yoongi stopped, waiting for him to continue. “Just don’t forget about the party.” There was a party for BTS’s upcoming album release. The company decided to do the party early because after the release, the boys would be swamped with everything that came with releases. “Of course not,” Yoongi rolled his eyes. “It’s our party. We have to be there.” “Just...try to make sure you get some sleep before then. It won’t be good for pictures to show you looking like a zombie, the way you do now.” “Whatever. You don’t need to nag me. I’m older than you anyways.” “Yeah, well you don’t act like it,” Namjoon said quickly before walking out. Yoongi’s temper flared up. He wanted to tell Namjoon off but he knew that it would just invite more conversation. And that was the last thing he wanted. For all he knew, that could be Namjoon’s plan. Yoongi cursed Namjoon under his breath before going back to his desk. Break time was over. Rose and Nina’s house “You’re still going to the party, right?” Nina called down the hall. “I’m too busy,” Rose called back and turned her attention back to her laptop. The novel was almost finished. She was both anxiously awaiting and dreading the completion of the novel. On one hand, her first full novel would finally be finished. On the other hand, there would be less distractions from the problems at hand. Of course, the recent events, while giving her an excuse to work diligently, were causing problems with her novel. Nina had commented on the darker path the story had taken. Rose had noticed it already. But she was going to try her best to make sure that ending was a happy one. Now, if only that could happen in real life... “Don’t give that excuse! You need a break. And you did a lot of work to help them on their album. BigHit is expecting to see you there,” Nina said leaning in the doorway. “We’ll see.” Rose glared at Nina. “Not ‘we’ll see’. You’re going to go. It’s not fair to the rest of them that your avoiding Yoongi means avoiding them.” Nina’s crossed her arms and glared back. Rose rolled her eyes, but she knew Nina was right. And she felt the same. She missed hanging out with the rest of them. They had been too busy to hang out anyway, but she felt a little guilty knowing that she probably would’ve avoided them even if they weren’t. “I know...I hate it when you do that.” “Do what?” Nina walked to Rose and leaned back on the desk. “Tell me something I already know and make me feel stupid about it.” Nina ruffled Rose’s hair. “Yeah, well, if you were a genius all the time, I probably wouldn’t like you as much.” Rose pushed Nina. “But for real. You’re really smart, but when it comes to yourself, you’re a bit of an idiot.” “Oh, thank you my amazing friend,” Rose replied sarcastically. “Hey, sometimes you need a reality check. Just be glad I’m so nice about it.” “Yeah, yeah, yeah.” “But, back to the issue at hand, let’s pick out a dress.” Friday (Day of the party) Friday arrived too soon for Rose and not soon enough for Nina, Jin, and Namjoon. Nina was coming to the party as Rose’s guest and Jin was excited to finally see her after so long. Namjoon was anxious to see Rose after everything Nina had told him. He was worried about how she was after not sleeping or eating. Jin and Namjoon kept Rose’s coming to the party a secret from the other guys. They didn’t want to give Yoongi time to find a way out and they knew that if they told the other guys, that one of them would slip. Rose was worried about having to see Yoongi. If he hated her as much as she was afraid he did, this would not be a pleasant party. She managed to get some restless sleep the night before so she hoped that her dark circles would not look as bad as they had looked for the last month or so. “Start getting ready,” Nina yelled from her room. “Yeah, yeah, I’m getting to it.” Rose walked to Nina’s room. The door was open as Nina picked out accessories to go with the dress. It was an informal party, so they didn’t have to wear evening dresses, but they still wanted to look nice. “Hey, Nina.” “Hmm?” Nina turned to Rose. “Can you help me with this later?” Rose indicated to her dark circles. “Y’know, one of these days, you need to learn how to put on proper makeup.” Rose rolled her eyes. “I don’t need you to trying to convert me over to cosmetics, I just need help this once. You know I’m not good with cover-or-whatever-the-hell-it’s-called.” Nina laughed. “Alright, girlie. Get everything else together and I’ll help you with it.” “And just so you know, I’m not doing a full mask of makeup. Just this part.” “Whatever. Just go get ready.” Rose turned to the door. “Oh, can you close the door?” Rose groaned and grabbed the door handle, closing it behind her. “Thank you!” Nina called. Rose went to her room and grabbed the dress she’d chosen. It was a knee-length dark blue dress with light and dark silver strands weaved through it, making small designs. The shortness of the dress was made up for by the top part. The top sat barely off the shoulder, with 3/4-length sleeves. Rose also grabbed a pair of nude-colored nylons to help hide the scars on her knees. She was about to pick accessories for the dress when she realized she was already wearing a necklace. This whole time, she had been mindlessly taking off the necklace for showers and then putting it right back on. She stared at the reflection of the dreamcatcher pendant in her closet mirror. Tears threatened to fall so she quickly unclasped the necklace and threw it on the bed. An hour later, both of the girls were ready to head to the party. The party started fifteen minutes previous and the venue was only a ten minute drive from their house which meant, in Nina’s eyes that they would be fashionably late. In Rose’s eyes, they were just plain late. But Rose knew that Nina purposely took a lot of time in order to make them late. After some bickering, the two of them got into the car and Nina drove them to the party. It was a fairly large venue. After YG’s Foreign Flower’s speech about companies working together, all the major entertainment companies were sending their bands to celebrate with each other. Rose hoped that there would be enough people to make it easy to avoid Yoongi. Rose’s wish came true. When Nina and Rose walked into the reception hall, they saw it was packed full of people. They spotted members of Exo, GOT7, Big Bang, MonstaX, f(x), and B.A.P. And that was just by the entrance. Some of the groups saw them come in and greeted Rose and were introduced to Nina. Nina had been studying hard, so her Korean was vastly improved, though she still had some trouble. The girls made their way through the crowd until they stumbled into Jin, Namjoon, Hoseok, and Jimin grouped together. Jin and Nina smiled at each other and Nina slowly made her way over to him. “Wow. You girls look really nice,” Jin said. Between the background music and other people talking, Jin had to raise his voice to be heard. The other guys smirked. “Yes they do, lover boy,” Jimin laughed. The other guys and Rose laughed. Jin and Nina stayed quiet with blushes on their cheeks. “Yah, stop teasing them,” Hoseok said, nudging Jimin. “Jin, I’m thirsty. Can you show me—where the drink area is?” Nina whipped her head towards Jin. “Yeah, sure. Of course,” Jin replied and quickly directed her away from the group. The people who were left laughed. “Noona,” Jimin said, his face turning serious. “Are you okay?” “Y-yeah. Why wouldn’t I be?” Rose answered nervously. She didn’t know how much the other members knew. “You’re paler than the last time we saw you,” Jimin replied. “And you’re thinner,” Hoseok added, voice laced with concern. “And we can tell you’re hiding panda eyes,” Namjoon remarked. “More so than usual.” Rose fidgeted and pulled at the ends of her hair. “I just—had a lot of work. I’m putting the finishing touches on my book and I’ve just been a little OCD about it. You know, a little bit Howard Hughes. But don’t worry, Nina’s been on my case already. After I’m finished, everything will go back to before.” “Noona—“ Hoseok started saying something, but Rose’s attention was caught by the silver-haired man she saw slowly getting closer. He didn’t seem to be heading specifically towards them, just wandering, but she got nervous anyway. “Hey, umm, I just saw someone I remembered that I needed to talk to,” Rose said hurriedly and took off in the opposite direction. The boys were confused for a moment until they heard, “Here’s where you guys have been. Manager’s been looking for you.” Yoongi looked at them boredly. They started following Yoongi. “It’s too bad,” Jimin said. Yoongi looked back at him. “You just barely missed Rose-noona.” Yoongi steps faltered. He refused to look at them while he tried to steady himself. “Rose...is here?” “Of course, she helped us a lot on this album,” Namjoon answered. “Of course...” Yoongi muttered. “Namjoon, can I talk to you?” Hoseok could hear the anger in his voice. Yoongi gestured to Jimin and Hoseok where the manager was. He started walking to a far corner that was empty. Namjoon followed. Namjoon knew that Yoongi was going to be mad at him, but he didn’t care. His hyung was acting like a kid. As soon as they reached the corner, Yoongi started in on Namjoon. “You knew, right? And you specifically kept that from me?” Namjoon crossed his arms and nodded. Yoongi became angrier. “Why?” he demanded. “Because I knew what would happen. You would find some excuse to not show up or try to get her uninvited.” “Yeah, well, she did say that she couldn’t stand being around me anymore. That my very existence hurt her. So why would I want to be here? And why would I want her to be here? So she can get hurt more?” Something clicked for Namjoon. Yoongi wasn’t just angry at Namjoon or Rose, he was angry at himself. He felt guilty. “That’s why you don’t want her here? So she won’t get hurt?” Namjoon confronted. Yoongi froze when he realized what he had let slip. “That’s not—that—“ Yoongi stuttered. “Let’s go, manager-nim is probably wondering why we’re not there.” Yoongi quickly walked back into the crowd. A little while later, an announcement was made. BTS went to the stage and said their ‘thank you’s before telling everyone to continue enjoying the party. Rose felt her heart catch in her chest when Yoongi took his turn at the mic. She thought he looked more pale and tired than usual, no doubt due to their recent crazy schedule. But it still worried her. For the next hour, Rose chatted with various people, making sure to move whenever she thought she saw Yoongi in the crowd. “Hey, can I borrow your phone for a bit?” Nina rushed up to Rose. “What for?” Rose asked pulling her phone out. “Mine’s about to die and I still have people I need to take pictures with. I’ll have you send them to me later, okay?” “Yeah, sure.” Rose handed over her phone. “Hey, what’s Jin doing about all the fangirling?” Nina blushed. “He was a little jealous at first, but I think now he just finds it cute.” “Told you he’s a good guy.” “Yeah, whatever.” Nina bumped Rose. “Thanks for the phone,” she said before disappearing back into the crowd. Rose was still smiling at her silly friend as she turned back around. Her smile dropped when she saw the person standing in front of her. Yoongi. She’d spent the whole time being careful, she stopped paying attention for a minute and this, of course, had to happen. “Yoongi...” his name escaped her lips. Yoongi quickly recovered from the surprise and put his bored mask back on. He started to turn away. “Yoongi—“ Yoongi froze as he waited for her to continue. “I’m—I’m sorry.” She said quickly and disappeared into the crowd. Tears threatened to spill from Yoongi’s eyes. He quickly left the reception area to head to the men’s bathroom. He wanted a moment to gather himself before he really did start to cry. He went into the fortunately empty bathroom and washed his face with the cold water. He stared at himself in the mirror as he mentally talked himself down. He took a few deep breaths and left the bathroom. Yoongi almost ran straight into someone. “Sorry!” he said quickly, holding the girl so she could get her balance back. He recognized her as one of the backup dancers for one of the music videos. “No, that’s okay, oppa. It was an accident. Actually, it’s funny, I’ve looking for you during the party. Then when I head to the bathroom and immediately run into you.” The girl smiled at him flirtatiously. She was really pretty. Exactly what he would describe as his type: shorter, but not too short, cute, small face, curvy in all the right places, which he could really see due to her provocative dress, younger than him, with a musical voice and laugh. Exactly what he thought was his type. Except...she wasn’t ‘her’. But that should be irrelevant. He couldn’t have ‘her’. With BTS’s busy schedule, Yoongi never really actively pursued a relationship. Rose was a surprise, an anomaly. But...maybe harmless flirting could provide him with a distraction from her. At least for a short time. “What a coincidence,” he quickly switched to flirtatious mode. The girl, whose name he just couldn’t recall, smiled at Yoongi’s responsiveness. “I just wanted to say thank you for giving me an opportunity to work with you so...closely.” She leaned up and kissed him lightly on the cheek. And that’s when he saw her. She had just stepped into the hallway, heading to the bathroom. Rose saw the kiss and felt her heart shatter. She knew Yoongi wasn’t hers, he was Suga, and he could get any girl he wanted. Just like she’d always thought. She just never thought she’d have to actually watch it happen. Yoongi was frozen in place, his eyes fixed on Rose as she quietly went back to the reception. Yoongi’s voice was caught in his throat. “I’m sorry. I—I need to talk to someone.” The girl looked at him with confusion. He barely glanced at her as he stepped around her. He practically ran to the reception door. Yoongi’s brain told him that he shouldn’t be doing this, he shouldn’t be going after her. But, in the brief moment that their eyes met, she looked hurt. It looked like she was about to cry. He had to ask her about it. Why did it look like that? It shouldn’t look like that. Unless...there was no way that Namjoon could be right. Yoongi heard from her own lips that everything about Yoongi hurt her. So why... Once inside, Yoongi immediately started scanning the crowd looking for Rose. She must’ve moved away quickly. Yoongi picked a direction and started his search. He moved through the crowd frantically. Whenever anyone tried to pull him into a conversation, he apologized and said he was in the middle of something. This continued until someone grabbed his arm. He turned to them and came face-to-face with Namjoon. “What’s wrong?” Namjoon asked with concerned eyes. “I—I—I was looking for someone,” Yoongi said, his eyes still scanning the crowd. “Rose noona?” That stopped Yoongi. “How...?” “So it was your fault.” Yoongi’s eyes shot to Namjoon’s. “What do you mean? What happened?” “Noona said she wasn’t feeling well and that she needed to go home.” “And you let her?” Yoongi raised his voice. Namjoon gestured for him to quiet down. “Hyung, she’s an adult. I didn’t let her do anything. She did what she wanted. And what’d you do to her anyway? She looked even more sick than when she got here.” “What—“ Namjoon cut Yoongi off, his anger finally starting to show. “If you’d cared at all, you would’ve seen her and known that something was wrong. She hasn’t been eating or sleeping...and it’s because you’re both stupid.” “Who are you—“ “Are you going to go talk to her?” Namjoon prodded. Yoongi was conflicted. While he debated with himself, Nina and Jin walked up. “Have you guys seen Rose?” Nina asked. “Yeah, she just left,” Namjoon answered, his eyes still not leaving Yoongi. “What? Why?” “She asked me to tell you when I saw you. She said she wasn’t feeling well and left.” “This girl...” Nina muttered. “She’s walking home then? ‘Cause I have the car keys. Oh shit, and the house keys. And her phone. This crazy girl.” “Well, she left in a hurry.” “Damnit, I’m gonna have to go after her,” Nina sighed. She turned to Jin. “Sorry—“ “You don’t need to leave,” Namjoon interjected. All eyes turned to him. “Hyung’ll do it.” “I what?” Nina smirked suspiciously, pulled out Rose’s phone, and unclipped the house keys. She thrust them into Yoongi’s hands. “Wait. I didn’t say—“ “It’s your fault. You should take care of it,” Namjoon whispered furiously in Yoongi’s ear. He pulled out at face mask and handed it to Yoongi. “Thank you!” Nina said and quickly pulled Jin away. Namjoon nodded towards the door. “Don’t worry, I’ll tell manager-nim that you weren’t feeling well. But you should hurry, she left almost 20 minutes ago.” This time I liked Jimin starting trouble, lol. And Yoongi...the holes you dig, though this time it seems to have caused things to head in the right direction. I wonder how it'll work out. Two chapters and an epilogue left...
