Two Idols Who Don't Care About Gender When It Comes to Ideal Types
Korea is still a very conservative country (mainly the older generation but they make up for more than 50% of the population...) so talking about anyone that isnt cis heterosexual is taboo. These idols took the risk and i really respect them for it. 1. Wonho When asked about his ideal girl, Wonho said that it doesnt matter - he only cares about whether or not they can cook ramen. He is also known to have had a very close friend predebut who was bullied for being either transgender or just a tomboy, and has faced hard criticism for his "gay" relationship with that friend. He has stood up for them, never denying or confirming his or his friends sexuality because at the end of the day, Wonho doesn't care. I think that's exactly what kpop needs. 2. Suga Suga made waves in the kpop community when his interview with a japanese magazine got translated. people were claiming that the translation was wrong, but with multiple sources translating it the same way, i think this is really what he meant! I hope that these two and all the other idols who are vocal about sexuality being NOT A HUGE DEAL will help Korean (and international) prejudices be erased!
