When I was engaged, Bon Appetit published this recipe for a wedding cake. Feeling inspired, I baked my own three-tier wedding cake. I finished piping it while my hair was in rollers, just 90 minutes before I walked down the aisle.
I don't recommend brides baking their own wedding cakes, but if you have a family member with good baking and decorating skills, consider this one. It is still revered as the best cake anyone had tasted!
