This is unapologetically Amy Schumer.
When you think of Amy Schumer, you immediately associate to the hilarious comedy that has made her star. She's blunt, unapologetic, and completely authentic-three qualities we adore. She's not afraid to mock herself in her own skits discussing that she's not society's standard of hot and that she's naturally a blonde. None of these things hinder her, they make her. Because after all, Amy Schumer can outshine pretty much anyone, ask Kim and Kanye. (But that's another story)
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Schumer debuted in her typical fashion: mocking the beauty standards that Americans deeply desire. While past Vanity Fair cover girls have posed in an assortment of ultra flattering clothing posing their bodies in strange contortions, Amy Schumer has completely defied that all together. She's frizzy haired, un-photoshopped, and baring her full figure. She truly is "America's Kid Sister" because she learned that she doesn't need a fancy title to steal the spotlight.
But if you're wondering why her crotch is on fire, you won't be surprised to hear that it was all Schumer's idea. "I begged Annie to photograph me with no underwear on in just a T-shirt," Schumer told Vanity Fair. "I explained to her how important it was to me and she finally agreed. I felt powerful and beautiful. She understood once we shot it. Or maybe she ran to the bathroom to throw up. It was one of the most meaningful moments of my life."
