Beating Heart {Yoongi Mini FF}
Hello lovely people. I just wanted to take this time and upload a mini FF that I have been working on for years. I got angry how the original one didn't flow like intende, so it sat in my docs for a later time. I recently lost my writer's block, and this is the completed revamped version. I'm happy-ish with it and just glad it's completed. {Now I can try to finish the others} It is a small Three Chapter fiction. I may choose to expand on it later, but here it is! I hope you enjoy. Title: Beating Heart Genre: Small Romance and Angst. Pairing: Raquel [OC] x Yoongi Plot: Sometimes distance makes the heart grow fonder. Yoongi and Raquel soon learn this, after Raquel tries to leave his life. ā± āāāāāāą®ą¹ā”ą¹ą® āāāāāā ā° Chp.1 Raquel prepared herself for another day at her school. She glanced at her phone seeing it was time to leave. She grabbed her keys, and locked up her apartment. Every day she would walk to school, admiring the city. She had developed friendships amongst a few of the guys in her classes; Hoseok in particular. He became one of her best friend's over the course of her time at school. When she was new, he was one of the first people to speak with her and show her around. Knowing Hoseok was a blessing, bringing about someone else who was special in her heart. She developed feelings for the jerk Hoseok called his best friend; Min Yoongi. He was cool and supportive to his friends, but he and Raquel clashed. The entire time they were around each other, it was a battle of the wits. They were sarcastic, sometimes driving their mutual friends crazy. It was almost as if Raquel and Yoongi couldnāt breathe right around each other. She felt it was unfortunate that his beautiful face, was prettier than his personality. He was undeniably one of the best looking guys in school. They had their moments of being civil, but it was a rarity. They irked each otherās nerves. It was just frustrating to her how he was cold, and standoffish. "Raquel, here. You left your book in the library. I picked it up for you." Raquel turned around to Hoseok and his friends. He was a gem to be around, turning her bad days into good ones. "Thank you Hoseok, I didn't know I left it behind." "Maybe if you were less ditzy, then you would have picked it up," Suga adjusted the bag on his back giving her his famous grin that she loved and hated all at once. "Suga, don't be rude," Hoseok tried to hush up his friend quickly before Raquel felt offended. "It's okay Hoseok. It's better to be ditzy than a jerk," she shot Yoongi a glare. He was always so cold to her. Raquel never understood why, or what made him mad about her presence. She started walking towards class leaving the others behind. She knew when she wasn't wanted, and this was one of those times. She was labeled as a nerd, but she didn't mind. Reading books and studying was one of her favorite hobbies. Yoongi sat down beside her. She felt like she had upset the heavenās, as his seat was besides hers. She ignored his presence as she wrote notes down. "You walk fast for someone who's so damn short," he grabbed her notebook off the desk, going through her pages. He wrote something down in the back, but he kept it out of her reach. "Why do you continuously mess with me?" "Me mess with you?" he scooted closer to her, "Raquel, that would imply something." He was even more irritating than before. āGive me my notebook back. Iām not implying anything. Iām just annoyed at how funny you think it is to constantly be a dick towards me.ā āDonāt make it so easy then,ā he gave her the notebook back as he smirked, pushing her forehead with his hand. One of the girls that had a crush on Yoongi scooted in between the two. It killed her to see Raquel getting his attention. Especially since she was the loner. Raquel never minded, but everyone thought it was sad. Raquelās phone went off showing her uncleās number. He only called her when emergencies happened. She walked out of the room answering it. āHello, whatās wrong?ā The voice on the other end of the phone was not her uncleās. She ran back into class grabbing her stuff, heading towards the door. Yoongi watched her frantic behavior. Something upset her. Raquel grabbed a taxi to the hospital. Her family was waiting for her outside the room where her grandfather was. He wanted to see Raquel one last time. Her grandmother stood by him holding his hand. Raquel kneeled down as she hugged him. āPlease take care of your grandmother, she canāt do things on her own. She will need your help. I love you Raq, I always have.ā They raised Raquel as their own since she was a baby. Essentially, they were her parents. She kissed her grandfatherās head as he said goodbye. She held her grandmother as they cried. While her grandmother and uncle made the arrangements, she sat in the waiting room feeling numb. She didn't notice Hoseok or the others approach her. āYou okay? Yoongi told us you abruptly left class. We went to your uncle's house, but his son brought us here.ā āHe's gone. My grandfather is gone. I don't know what to do.ā They sat down next to her, trying to cheer her up. They noticed her wearing all black. Yoongi, amongst them, hated to see Raquel so down. He always gave her a hard time, but he didnāt like to see her upset. It made him feel some type of way to see her cry. Almost as if a boulder was crushing his chest. People started pouring in showing the family condolences. āI have to get back in there,ā Raquel stood up walking towards her grandmother and uncle. Her friends followed behind her. She sat next to her grandmother. The amount of love shown to her family warmed her heart. Raquel needed to figure out her next move. With her grandmother living outside of the city, she would have to make decisions, possibly moving away. After the funeral concluded, Raquel left with her grandmother. A few days had passed with Raquel missing school. She needed to return to school to leave for a few semesters. Yoongi was walking to class when he saw her leave the office. āRaquel, what are you doing?ā āYoongi, itās good news for you. Iām leaving school. My grandmother needs help so you wonāt have to worry about seeing me again, Iām leaving town also.ā āYouāre leaving school, why?ā āWith my grandfather gone, Iāll have to take up the chores and her business. So I guess this is goodbye.ā He wasnāt too excited like she told him heād be. Yoongi didnāt want her to leave, that was the opposite of what he actually wanted. She glanced at her phone noticing the time, as Hoseok approached her. āRaqi, youāre leaving?ā āYeah, for a while. I was just telling Yoongi here that he doesnāt have to worry about seeing me anymore. Listen I gotta go, good luck in your studies guys.ā She hugged them as she left. Her new fate would take her to her old hometown. Raquel always wanted to live in a big city, it was a good dream while it lasted. Her grandmother needed her though, so the decision wasnāt a hard one to make. She would periodically move her stuff back home, but not now. They got on the road as she stared out the window. She almost forgot how pretty the country was. The car came to a stop in the driveway. It was surreal that this was happening. She hadnāt returned home for a while. With her grandfather gone, she was sad and already missed him. The country was going to be peaceful at least. āCome on baby, letās get settled.ā Raquel helped her grandmother inside the house. She placed their bags down, escorting her to the kitchen. Tea was always her grams go-to for a broken heart. āRaquel, Iām sorry youāre having to take the responsibilities on. Your uncle." āI know gram, he forgot where he came from and thinks the countryside is for bumpkins. Itās okay. I didnāt fit in with anyone there, I was called ditzy a lot. So itās better Iām here.ā Her grandmother placed her hands on top of Raquel's. No matter what, she was always able to count on Raquel. If there was one thing that she did right, it was raising Raquel to be the beautiful, selfless person. She had morals and was thoughtful. That was hard to come by these days. She would see to it that Raquel would be taken care of for her selflessness. āHere have some tea, grams, we both need a good cup,ā she poured the tea as they sat in silence. The time came for them to sleep. They had a big day ahead of them, adjusting to Raquelās new schedule. She walked into her old room as she noticed nothing was moved or changed since she left. This brought a smile. They always respected her privacy, and her space. She climbed in her bed feeling at home. This would be an okay change of pace. Horrible circumstances, but a good start. ā± āāāāāāą®ą¹ā”ą¹ą® āāāāāā ā° A/N: Here it is. I may roll the story out all in one day, but it depends on what I have to do today. I also will be rewriting my other stories with the other members. Tagging my Normal Readers: @MelissaGarza @QueenPandaBunny
