(: Yoshihiro Togashi is the writer and artist of YuYu Hakushu and you may recognize the name because he is also the mastermind behind Hunter x Hunter. The anime originally ran in Japan on Oct 1992-Jan 1995! Funimation produced it and I enjoy both the sub and dub cx Noriyuki Abe is the original director and Justin Cook is the ADR director for the dubbed version (@Danse if you haven't already hehe can I request you do a Seiyuu review of this anime? X3) Overall summary of the story.? Yusuke Urameshi is a just your high school delinquent who is the protagonist who dies, and he was granted second chance at life because his death was... how do I put it... unexpected. haha cx Through his trials back to life he meets Koenma, King Enma Jr. the Judge of the Underworld, and Botan, the Guide to the River Styx. Yusuke later becomes a Spirit World Detective along with Kuwabara. They both are around to keep apparitions, demons, and members of the Spirit World separate from the Human World. Along the they meet and encounter enemies and friends like, Hiei, Kurama, Genkai, Yukina, Rinku, Chu, Toya, Susuki, Shishiwakamaru. There are a couple tournaments that occur in the manga and the anime like the Dark Tournament and Ending tournament that decides the ruler of the Spirit World. Main Character Fight! The Greenies
Hey Nakama! In honor of the new Yu Yu Hakusho community, I wanted to make a new, piping-hot Versus Battle featuring the star of the anime. I thought about who'd make a good match for everyone's favortie spirit detective, and I ultimately landed on another intense young man with green highlights. So here's a fight to consider: Gon Freecss vs Yusuke Urameshi Gon Freecss (from the HxH Wiki) Gon has all the benefits granted by his status as a Hunter. At the beginning of the series he had a fishing rod that he could swing with baffling accuracy, even managing to catch Hisoka's tag from afar while the latter was moving at high speed. The fishing rod can also be used as an offensive weapon if the situation ask for it. During the Hunter Exam, Gon was often praised for his powers of observation, agility and stamina. In battle, he think so quickly for an alternative solutions and strategies. His most remarkable quality, however, is the uncanny, bottomless potential he is gifted with. Many powerful characters such as Hisoka Wing, Biscuit and Razor were left astounded when they grasped the full extent of Gon's talent, which is often described as being limitless. This allows him to learn extremely quickly, and that is true especially in the field of Nen, with an aptitude like his being very rare. Even prior to learning it, he managed to use Zetsu on one occasion. His transformation during his fight against Neferpitou serves as proof that, if he trained endlessly for several years, he could even match Meruem in terms of power. However, it is unknown what kind and regimen of training he'd need to go through to reach that stage. Special Move: Jajanken Yusuke Urameshi (From the YYH Wiki) Yusuke has shown feats of stamina and endurance beyond that of a human multiple times, and after his Mazoku rebirth he displayed an even higher level of stamina. His most notable is where he is shown running for 3-5 days straight at high speeds along side Hokushin and Touou, while the two monks are exhausted Yusuke is fine, he went to fight Raizen afterwards. Another notable example is Yusuke's fight against Yomi, which lasted for around 60 hours - this is mentioned by Yusuke in the 170th chapter of the manga. While not present at the start of the anime/manga, Yusuke is clearly stronger than all of his peers and most adults. At age 14, he was shown as strong enough to hurt Goki in his human form, later he is shown to be strong enough to create a sharp 'wind blade' by just using his full strengh in a punch. During the Chapter Black arc, Yusukes punch at 1/3 strength was capable to knocking out amateur boxer Moruta with merely it's shock wave. Special Move: The Spirit Gun / Demon Gun Alright Nakama! Tell us who you think would win in the comments, and really make your case! Which of these supernaturally talented green-clad heroes takes the win?
Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho!
So I just wanted to put up a post of the first anime I ever watched back in the 90's, Yu Yu Hakusho! This show started me in on one is now one of my favorite things. Anime. Now as you can see, Hiei is my personal favorite from this show. You may start seeing a pattern to all the characters from each anime that I've chosen over the years. Kinda like myself when I play beer pong, some call it "cocky" or "arrogant".. but if you can back up what you say, it's just self confidence. and thats something Hiei and Vegeta are loaded with. :) Thats what I really love in personalities, be a bad ass and know you are. Now for a little bit about him. He is kinda of a strange case being a Fire Demon but born from an Ice Maiden. (I think are similar to Amazon's in the way they keep females and toss out males.) Hence why Hiei grew up surviving on his own in the wilds. Have to hand it to him, to be able to survive and train himself up like that is quite commendable. Now when he and his twin sister were born, their mother shed two "Hirui Seki" tears that turn into a crystals and given to each child. That was the one thing that basicly chilled him out over the years and kept him at peace.. when he wasn't completely thrashing other demons/people/animals or what not of course. Well after he got older he decided to go back and get revenge on the Ice Maidens for kicking him to the curb and ended up loosing his Hirui Seki in battle. Only reason I felt the need to mention all that is because he ends up getting his Jagan Eye (third eye) implanted to try and find the crystal. Unfortunately even though the eye gives him a bunch of powers including Hypnosis, Telepathy and Clairvoyance he was unable to locate it. The Eye also allows him to transform into whats called Jaganshi form (meaning evil eye expert). This form greatly increased Hiei's strength and speed, not to mention allowing him to paralyze his opponent. Unfortunately the greatest weakness is the eyes can be blinded, and in which case do nothing to improve on his skills. Aside from his rediculas speed, sword skills and eye. He also attained Dragon of Darkness Flames.. (forgive me for using the english translation here, don't remember what it was originally). He basicly uses his demon energy to summon black flames from Demon World and create a dragon from them which can be a directed attack and distroys anything it tounches. Sounds a bit like Sasuke's Amaterasu you say? Well thats because Sasuke him self along with a lot of his attacks and style are based on Hiei. Odd how much I like Hiei and not such a big fan of Sasuke though, guess cause Sasuke is a poser and Hiei was doing it all before it was "cool". haha So those are probably his most notably known ability, he has others still and some of them even more powerful if you can believe it. I'm going to end this here, but I hope this was enjoyable enough and doesn't have many if any mistakes on information. Hoping to get some nostalgia kicking in you folks. :) I'd love to see some comments of who each of your favorite characters from Yu Yu Hakusho and why you like them. If you made it this far you either really enjoyed this show or just really like reading. sorry its so long. haha
