The Creed of Freedom - If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything.
There is nothing more common in history than for oppressed people to rise up against their masters and, at great cost in treasure and blood, throw off the old regime, only to discover that they have replaced it with one that is just as bad or worse. That is because it is easy to know what we dislike about a political system but not so easy to agree on what would be better. For most of history, it has been the habit of men to focus on personalities rather than principles. They have thought that the problem was with the man who rules, not with the system that sustains him. So, they merely replace one despot for another, thinking that, somehow, the new one will be more wise and benevolent. Even if the new ruler has good intentions, he may be corrupted by the temptations of power and, in those rare cases where he is not, eventually he is replaced by another who is not as self-restrained. As long as the system allows it, it is just a matter of time before a new despot will rise to power. To prevent that, it is necessary to focus on the system itself, not personalities and, for that to happen, it is just as important to know what we are for as it is to know what we oppose. Even today, with so much talk about fighting to defend freedom, who can define what that word means? For some, freedom means merely not being in jail. Who can define the essence of personal liberty? Who can look you in the eye and say: “This I believe, and I believe it for this reason, and this reason, and this reason also.” The world is dying for something to believe in, a statement of principles that leaves no room for misunder-standing; a creed that everyone of good faith toward their fellow human beings can accept with clarity of mind and strength of resolve. There is an old saying that if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. The Creed of Freedom that you are about to read is the rock-solid ground that will allow everyone to stand firm against all the political nostrums of our day and those in the future as well. The Creed expresses the core ideology that binds everyone together.

The Conventional Wisdom
I hope that everyone of you, will take out a few minutes from your busy schedule on this Sunday, to read the following few paragraphs, just so you can ponder upon the wisdom which is missing in our lives now and seems to be extinguishing with every passing day, until a day it'll finally extinct. Economics is considered to be the backbone of the current civilisation on this little blue-green ball floationg around the sun in its orbit. But the economic system that controls the world currently, is so sane that the more successful it is at it's own terms, the quicker it destroys the planet. It's the perfect environmental and human assassin. It insists every year that we take more from the earth even quicker, turn it to even more things, sell even more things, consume even more things, throw away even more things, to worship the real god of the modern world i.e. “Economic Growth”. It insists that every year 20% of the people of the world consume 80% of the resources, while leaving the other 80% to get by on the other 20%. CRAZYYYY....of course it is....But that's the economic system(take, make, and throw away), that controls everyone's life here, of more than 7 billion people on this earth. So what's behind this self destruction, or who and why? Just look at some of the conventional wisdom that we pass on from generation to generation as the only way of doing things in this world. The Wisdom that says even though the economic system that was just described is dismantling this planet, ask any politician of any party anywhere in the WORLD, “What do we do to get out of this environmental situation?” And they'll say “We must have more growth, to raise the money to spend it on the environment.” If anyone said to you the way to put out a fire is to pour more petrol on it, you'd say he's out of his mind...!!! But that's what the politicians are saying when they say about more growth to sort out the environment. lts conventional wisdom, that is fine to treat animals as mere commodity to be made as fat as possible as quick as possible on as little food as possible. To condemn every year billions of animals to a life time of pain, fear and suffering in the name of equality. You are sane if you judge your success on healthcare, not by how many people are healthy, but how many diseased people you treat. “We're treating more patients than ever before.” WHY...?? Why are so many people ill...?? It's conventional wisdom that rising house prices are a sign of economic success, when thousands are homeless because they can't afford them. You're sane finally if you think it's fine to support a system that's so successful that every year it turns out more suicide, alcoholism, drug taking, homelessness, pain, stress, fear and suffering in all the forms. We'd be in real trouble if this system wasn't working, Wouldn't we...??? That is sanity apparently, but it's the ultimate insanity, so who's behind it or what and why?
