No More Hiking During Hunting Season?

I'm not much of a hiker myself, but I thought @yakwithalan would be interested in this since he told me he occasionally hikes down this way. It seems that because of concerns of incidents happening between hikers and hunters (accidental shootings and the like), there's a proposition for hiking to be not allowed during hunting season in state game lands. That'd add up to more than 130 days a year. I'm not sure if this is worth the closure or not: of course it's great to prevent more death and injury because of hunters injuring hikers, but if it passes hikers would also have to get a permit to be able to hike on the lands. Since they're state game lands whose primary use is hunting, not hiking, I guess the proposition isn't so insane. What do you think @yakwithalan?

The Amazing Hook-Eze

Now I'm saying amazing based on the video. I never used this myself, but it seems like something I'll need to order asap. My kids already are learning to tie their own tackle but I'm always worried about them getting hurt. This also would be a good way to learn new knots and practice with them, though I wonder how many different hook sizes would fit in there well. It won't really work for some of my jigs, though! What do you think of it?

260lb Catfish Doesn't Break World Record

This angler (Italian Dino Ferrari) reeled in an absolutely huge wels catfish. Now, these catfish are known for being huge, and this ones no exception. It's 8ft, 260lbs. Huge it may be, but it's not a record winning fish! As of catching in June 2014, the record stood at 297lbs, 9 oz. Who wants to try to catch a bigger one? Check out the video in the second slide to see his technique on another, previous (in 2013) big catch by the same angler.

Deep Sea Fishing Game: Reel Tough!

I saw that @TheReelLife posted a video the other day of some cool fishing games. Looked into finding some more fishing games and this is what I found. You actually have to REALLY get into this game! It looks like you're reeling in a real fish, not just a virtual one. Who wants to play?

Awesome Topwater Striper Action!

Pulling in nice stripers on topwater is one of the nicest parts of fishing the Chesapeake it seems. These are from near the mouth of Elk River. Rod setups (shared by the video creator): Abu Garcia torno 3004 hsi with 6' medium action bionic blade rod, abu Garcia revo 3sx with 7' mh abu Garcia vendetta, and really old abu Garcia c3 with really old abu Garcia mh 6' rod

GoPro Bass Strikes Underwater in Clear Water

This is an awesome video, once again, of some cool bass strikes! These smallies are bedding. When I see these kind of conditions, I think tubes are one of the best baits. The slower fall, pending you can get it to fall right over the bed, usually gets them riled up and they'll come up and attack it, instead of just moving it once it's on the bed. Who wants to get some action?

Underwater Bass Strikes with the Water Wolf Cam

This is pretty awesome footage. As always, Bamabass makes the best stuff on Youtube! This is an absolutely amazing way to learn what the fish are doing. its awesome to see that they strike the camera when theres 5 swimbaits back there! Sometimes that makes me wonder why we analyze our lures so much; seems like they might bite anything!
