When choosing roofing materials, most people go with flat roof coverings and roof tiles, but there are also other popular types of roofing sheets. Often used types include polycarbonate sheets, PVC roofing sheets, puff panels, asphaltic sheets, asbestos sheets, etc. Three types are distinguished for popularity and those are corrugated roofing sheets, metal sheet roofing, and polycarbonate roofing sheets.
Corrugated roofing sheets are very strong and stable, stronger than a flat counterpart. This type of roofing sheet has a variety of materials. The most common option is galvanized steel sheets. Corrugated roofing sheets are often finished with a PVC coating.
Metal sheet roofing is similar to corrugated roofing sheets, but it has fewer curves. It is very popular as a covering for garages or garden buildings. Metal sheets are strong and lightweight. They often have different finishes and materials, even come in a variety of colors. The most used metals are steel and aluminum. Steel is heavier and stronger. Some very expensive options include copper metal roofing and stainless – steel which are usually unaffordable, but very high-quality.
Polycarbonate roofing sheets are known in different names and are made of polypropylene resin. They are very easy to cut and easy to use. What is interesting about those types of roofing sheets is that they are pH neutral. Water or oils don’t have an impact on them at normal temperatures. Some of them have extraordinary finishes like ultra-violet protection, corrosive inhibitors, flame retardants, etc. Polycarbonate roofing sheets are found used mostly in garages but are also popular among animal keepers.
Apart from these, types of roofing sheets include many different materials, such as thatch, wheat straw, rye straw, wood shingle, slate, solar shingle, membrane roofing, and all of these have many variations.
