In hopes that Vingler, @Rodiziketan will create a cocktail in my honor (like he did for @allischaaff...not that I'm bitter or anything...), I am dedicating this card to him because he is the authority (as far as I know) when it comes to balancing creativity with authenticity when constructing cocktails.

Everclear 151 grain alcohol
Dried orange peel
Everclear 151 is so pure--even more so than vodka--that it can absorb the essences of citrus better than anything else on the market.
Dried peel is easy to find in herb stores like Teavana.
Genetian extract aids in digestion, in case you were wondering. It can be found in herb or natural food stores.
Coffee filters will yield a 'clear' liquid, versus a cloudy liquid that you get from a mesh strainer.
1 (750-milliliter) bottle grain alcohol, such as Everclear 151
1/2 pound orange peel pieces
1 teaspoon fennel seed
1/2 teaspoon coriander
4 cardamom pods
20 drops gentian extract
1. Combine all ingredients in a 2-quart jar with a tight fitting lid. Close and store at room temperature. Let steep 14 days, shaking the jar every other day.
2. Strain alcohol from spices and store in a jar with a tight fitting lid in a dark place.
