Silver Spoon (銀の匙 Gin no Saji) (a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa, best known for her previous work, Fullmetal Alchemist) will be animated and aired on Fuji TV's noitamina block. The official site for this new tv anime series has also been opened. Set in the fictional Oezo Agricultural High School in Hokkaido. It depicts the daily life of Yugo Hachiken, a student from Sapporo who, unlike his new classmates, has no intention of following an agricultural career after graduating, but instead decided to study there under the misguided notion that he could easily be the top student in the class. Since its first volume, Silver Spoon has been well received by readers and won the great prize for the fifth Manga Taishō award. In order to celebrate the anime adaption of Silver Spoon, the front page of Weekly Shonen Sunday issue 7 is a picture of the special cake with the face of the main protagonist - Yugo Hachiken who is crying out of joy. This cake will be also appeared in the CM of Silver spoon vol 6 released this January 18.
