The internet kind of lost it this weekend. Marvel showed the trailer for Civil War at the Disney D23 Expo (which explains why they didn't bother with SDCC this year). And since Disney wasn't taking any chances about letting this trailer leak, we have to trust the memories of the people who were there.
Here's a summary of what they saw:
“Eyes on Target folks.” Falcon launched Redwing - it’s robotic, and he can look through it! It’s Cap, Falcon, and Black Widow going after a bomber - Crossbones! Cap and Crossbones engage, while Falcon, with a massively upgraded suit, and Black Widow take out his thugs." (Via).
Sam! Sam Wilson! With his wings!
Black Widow and Hawkeye Square off. "We're still friends, right?" BW asks. "Depends on how hard you hit me." - Hawkeye (via).
Clintasha! On opposite sides! Why Marvel WHY?!
“I know we’re not perfect, but the safest hands are still ours,” Cap says. “If we have no limitations, we’re no better than the bad guys,” Iron Man says. (Via).
Tony and Steve oh no. Why can't we just talk this one out?
Black Panther is definitely in the movie.
As is Ant-Man, who apparently fangirls over Captain America.
Can you blame him?
“This is for dropping a building on my face,” Crossbones says to Cap. (Via).
Okay, Crossbones sounds cool.
If you don't remember, that's this guy:
“You know, he remembered you. Your pal, your buddy, your Bucky.”
It's like Marvel doesn't want us to live through this movie.
The subtext alone has probably already caused some fatalities.
The trailer still hasn't been released.
But the fandom is already imploding. Maybe we can't handle it. But if it is gonna kill us with feels, it's a heck of a way to go, right?
