N.W.A. and Master P were two great success stories in hip-hop in the early 90’s. After witnessing the Success of N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton,”The New Orleans native took to social media to announce his own upcoming biopic.
2015 has been an amazing year for the hip-hop community!
"Ice Cream Man: King of the South" will chronicle P’s early days of New Orleans trap scene.
The OG of No Limit isn’t waiting for any big studio to come in and claim the rights to his film either, as P is directing the film himself and releasing it through No Limit Forever Films.
The trailer for the upcoming biopic is above. The trailer captures the essence of the coming of age biopic, as we see the No Limit Soldier go from a young, gold-toothed gangster to the dominant force in hip-hop he is today.
The film will be written by Percy “Master P” Miller, Parde Bridget and Wayne Conley and is scheduled for release in theaters Spring 2016.
From the looks of the trailer, this should be a very strong film. Master P is known as an authentic artist who never watered down his sound or image from mainstream America. He has seen great success with this formula and we should expect the same approach with this film.
An in-depth look at his rise to fame from the tough streets in New Orleans could be amazing. I can’t wait to see this film in theatres!
