@LizArnone thought of an AMAZING writing prompt: What Literary World Would You Want To Live In (And Why). I'm glad I got tagged, even though this is a really difficult question for me to answer! Discworld is really tempting, because who wouldn't want to live on the backs of turtles? Then again, being a wizard and going to Hogwarts was my dream as a child.

So, if I could live in any book, what did I pick?

You'll notice that the world map of the books (above) is really familiar. That's because the stories are an alternate history. Gods and goddesses are real, and the people of Terre d'Ange are the followers of the cast-out son of Yeshua. They've settled in the region we know as France, and created a powerful empire.

The most basic principle of their faith is love.

I was thirteen when I read these books. They were my first 'grown-up' books (which means they were the first books I read that had explicit sexual content). What drew me to the books was the idea of an entire culture based on love. Whether that be a love of art and creation, the love of your family, or the love of your country, all acts of love were considered sacred and important. And as a result, their society thrived.
That's not to say there isn't hardship.
Love isn't always reciprocated. Or sometimes it is, but you're torn between the love you have for your country (and the duties you have there) and the love of your partner or family. And there are external challenges as well. Plague, wars with other nations, and the consequences of divine intervention are all challenges within this universe.

That's a world I want to live in.

Despite all the hardships and horrors that the characters in the books endure, the lives of normal people in this world actually sound really pleasant. The food is delicious, the seasons are temperate, the fashion scene is amazing, and even the poorest people live really good, fulfilling lives. How awesome does that sound?
@VixenViVi I am *so* glad to know someone else that has read the books!! I'm not sure what house I would prefer... probably Eglantine because I used to be a performer and I love the playfulness of it. I've actually been thinking about getting Sidonie's tattoo myself
