70th Korean Independence Day in Gwanghwamun
Gwangbokjeol (National Liberation Day of Korea) means "the day the light returned" and is celebrated every August 15. It is a public holiday in South Korea and commemorates Victory over Japan Day, which liberated Korea from colonial rule.
