My Dinner Date With Three Amazing Men
[Dead And Alive]
So it's not a secret that @VinMcCarthy always come up with the most amazing writing prompts. I couldn't resist the urge of doing this one. Journey with me as I explain what three people [alive or dead] I would love to sit down and do dinner with. This is going to be good, trust me. You can check out @VinMcCarthy card [here].
If I had the opportunity to sit down for dinner with any three people and get inside of their heads a bit, I would hands down choose Marvin Gaye, Kendrick Lamar and Gil Scott-Heron. I'm an old soul with a little bit of hip hop flowing through my veins and I think these three people embody all the qualities I enjoy. I would love to have them all engage with me in a group setting opposed to one on one dinner dates. If you're curious to why I chose these three people over anyone else, keep reading to figure out why.
This man. I mean what can I say about him? What can I not? He was simply amazing. I would sit home down and blatantly ask him "what's going on" just see what his response would be. I would tell him that his voice changed the music game and created babies [possibly even myself]. He was a smooth brother and I mean, who wouldn't want to have dinner with a man with an amazing beard and a voice that can make you pass out within seconds.
Mr. Lamar, I can go on for days about this man. Not only is he an amazing lyricist, but he speaks knowledge and he's one of the few rappers [that are left] that actually talks about something meaningful besides the usual misogynistic lyrics. He's extremely positive and we need more rappers like that in the industry. I would love to sit him down and ask him a few questions about where he gets his inspiration and what pushed him to follow his dreams of becoming a rapper. I love positivity and good vibes and this good kid from a mad city is all about that.
Gil knew exactly what he was talking about when he said, "the revolution will not be televised" because apparently the media shows what they want and not what we deserve to see. If he was alive I would ask him how what he thinks about the world today and in all honesty, I highly doubt he would be pleased. Just having him around to bask in his amazing voice would be just enough for me.
You're probably thinking to yourself that I chose these three men because of their beautiful facial hair [you could be right], but in all honesty, I chose these three men over anyone else because they all have [had] a voice that they wanted to be heard and I respect that.
If you could sit down for dinner with any three people [dead or alive] who would you choose and why?
