If The Internet Has Its Way, Jon Stewart Could Host A Presidential Debate
Over the past year we have seen plenty of silly online petitons go viral, but this new one on the rise holds a lot of weight.
A Change.org petition demands that Jon Stewart host one of the three major presidential debates.
This could be big.
The petition shared numerous details on why they feel Stewart should be used as a moderator for a debate.
“Jon Stewart is more than qualified to tackle the moderating job,” the petition states. “Mr. Stewart has interviewed 15 heads of state, 22 members of the United States Cabinet, 32 members of the United States Senate, 7 members of the United States House of Representatives, and scores of other political leaders from this country and around the world while establishing himself as the most trusted person in (satirical) news.”
At the moment the petition has logged over 100,000 signatures.
My fellow Jon Stewart fans on social media, don't let me down now!
This could be a big moment for Jon and the political debates. The power of social media is at an all-time high right now in American culture. Jon has the ear of the youth and respect of many politicians. Having Jon be apart could bring a lot of young people in to watch the debate and allow the views or candidates to be heard to a new demographic.
On top of that, Jon will be able to control the stage and won’t have a problem asking tough questions.
This could be a great debate and TV. I hope this comes to light!
