ATTENTION: You Can Become A Mermaid, Really!
I have discovered my life long goal, and it isn't being rich, famous, successful or a good person (just kidding on the last one) . I want, no I need, to become a mermaid. Just think about it for a second, swimming super fast, always being in the ocean, helping your sea creature friends...its practically the American Dream, except better. Celeb fashion photographer Angelina Venturella and amazing underwater photographer Chiara Salomoni have teamed up with the most interesting man in the world, Eric of the Mertailor to capture stunning pictures of "mermaids" to raise awareness AND money to preserve the ocean. I need to be apart of this and you will too after you see the mind boggling pictures. Its kind of amazing to see a mermaid out in the open, right by houses! I think thats what I love about this picture. It makes this dream seem a bit more attainable. Just look at the details on her tail! And the top piece its own work of art! Being able to go to work and be made up to look that outta this world....#goals. There is something so mystical about his picture. Mermaids have been in folklore for forever, and this picture certainly makes it even more romantic. Again just look at the TAIL! The Mertailor has found his talent and it is jaw dropping. I love that project mermaid doesn't just stick with typical mermaid colors. This dark and mysterious mertail is beautiful and completely enchanting. He specialized in the study of invertebrate animals, with an emphasis on squid brains. Soon after, Alex began working at the White Sea Biological Station (WSBS) as a senior laborer. WSBS has a dive station, which is great for all sorts of underwater scientific needs, and after 4 years working there, he became chief of the diving team. Today Alex organizes all WSBS underwater projects and dives by himself with great pleasure and always with a camera. This skill did not come about right away, and took some time and practice: “When I first began to experiment with sea life photography I tried shooting small invertebrates for fun with my own old dslr camera and without any professional lights or lenses. I collected the invertebrates under water and then I shot them in the lab. After two or three months of failure after failure I ended up with a few good pictures, which inspired me to buy a semi-professional camera complete with underwater housing and strobes.” - Alexander Semenov Now after four years of practice he gets a few good shots almost every time he dives. Capturing Underwater Pole Dancing
Underwater pole dancing is a thing, you guys. And photographer Brett Stanley captures its beauty. Brett worked with several pole dancers to complete his series. He taught the dancers how to hold their breath, and figure out what poses work best underwater. Not only is underwater pole dancing included in Brett's photography portfolio, he also takes shots of various themes underwater. He is based in Los Angeles, but works worldwide. The New, Beautiful, Wedding Picture Craze
Wedding photography has taken a turn to the unique with photographers like Shawn and Adam who have moved to Maui and now photograph newlyweds underwater! The results have been breath taking, beautiful and all around magical as brides and husbands take to the water in full wedding attire (optional), and the pictures come out looking out of this world! You can check out more of their stuff at Love and Water Photography! Maybe your honeymoon plans will changed to a trip to Maui! Check out a few of my favorites, I defiantly think that this is worth destroying the dress for. The way the water is able to make not only the dress, but the bride seem weightless makes for such a beautiful picture! The way her dress is floating with the water makes this bride look like a newly married mermaid! There is just something about water and rain drops that can turn this bride into the most interesting otherworldly being! I wish I could have a wedding picture as beautiful as this one! Even though they aren't in wedding attire this picture really captures the love and fun between husband and wife! And the turtle looks adorable! Others have now taken up the underwater wedding photography and the outcomes are just becoming even more amazing! I am especially loving the couple pictures because even the most cynical, i hate marriage types, can't help but find them amazing, and a little mysterious. These dresses look awesome when the ocean takes control of the flow of the fabric! And the addition of the fish staring at the bride is too perfect. Being underwater certainly takes the typical bride and groom kiss picture to another level! I love that this picture is black and white! It makes it feel a bit mysterious, which defiantly goes with the vibe of under the sea! Sigh...I just love love!
