Hello fam! I constantly making sure in order for me to reduce stress and manage mental health I must take self care important. I have some tips to help those who want to reduce stress by self care. BTS will help me out. *Disclaimer I'm not a doctor. Consult with PCP if you have health issues. I'm sharing my skin care routine.* Tip 1: Meditation and or relaxing This will help you wind down and reduce those racing thoughts. You can add in deep breathing if you like. I rest while listening to calming music or rain music. Tip 2: Pamper yourself or skincare At the end of the day I take time to enjoy my skincare routine. The scents and applying the products can be relaxing. Tip 3: Make time with friends Being around positive friends and having fun can help reduce stress and remind you that you are loved. At least once a month my friends and I always do something e.g. lunch, dinner, spa day, etc. Tip 4: Eating healthy and drinking lots of water Sometimes it is true you can be mean when hungry lol. I know I am. I feel bad physically when I eat lots of greasy foods and drink sugary drinks. Make sure to eat those in moderation and stay hydrated. This can improve health. Tip 5: Exercise be active Moving around helps you feel alive and good about yourself. WHAT DO U DO FOR SELF CARE? COMMENT BELOW!!! 7 Weird Weight Loss Tips That Don't Involve Exercising
If you're on a weight loss journey, but you hate exercising, test out these weight loss tips that don't require one minute of exercise. Tie a knot. If you're feeling daring, try Valerie Orsoni’s “Le Petit Secret." It's a method used by multiple French women who wear a ribbon around their waist when they go out to eat. It's supposed to keep you conscious of how much you're eating because the ribbon will start to feel tighter as the evening progresses. Eating for the Insta. Rather than logging down every morsel in a food journal/diary, take a picture of it. That way you can visualize how much food you're truly consuming. Eat off small blue plates. Putting your food onto small plates will give off the appearance that you have more food on your plate than you actually do. Also, the color blue functions as an appetite suppressant, so there's a reason why a lot of restaurants don't use them. Eat with your opposite hand. This will cause you to concentrate more on picking up your food and unconsciously slow down your food intake. Light a vanilla-scented candle after dinner. Studies show that the aroma of a vanilla candle will dampen dessert cravings. Hang a mirror opposite your seat at the table. You're less likely to shove that extra roll in your mouth when you're staring yourself in the eye during a meal. A mirror will help remind you of why you're trying to lose weight in the first place. Sit at the end of the table. Usually all the shared food such as appetizers, chips and salsa, bread, etc. are placed in the middle of the table for easy access to everyone. The farther away you sit, the least likely you will be tempted to go for seconds.
3 Skin Products That Have Actually Worked for Me
(image: glossier) Are you tired of buying products and seeing a whopping total of zero results? Same, girl. So today I'm going to share a few products that have actually had a noticeable impact on my skin. (image: mom fabulous) 1. RoC Deep Wrinkle Retinol Correction Holy cow guys. This stuff is absolutely magic in a bottle. Retinol in any dosage higher than this can only come with a perscription because it is incredibly strong. Creams with this product, if the dosage is right, practically erase fine (and not so fine) lines. I attacked my crows feet with this cream and I kid you not, I saw improvement and near-elimination of my deepest wrinkle in one week. One week. The little tube is a little pricey but good God does it work! Warning: I used the Day and Night cream religiously and after a few days I noticed that my skin was rather red. The labels warns that this happens and you skin will get used to it, but it persisted for longer than I liked. I stopped for a week, then went to only using the night cream and I haven't had a problem since. Retinol is a serious chemical so don't over-do it! Get your hands on it here! (image: pop sugar) 2. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment The winter weather is not kind to my lips and there is nothing I hate more than that tight, almost sticky-dry feeling you get when your lips are parched. While drinking water helps, I found that this lip treatment not only moisturized my lips but softened them, slightly lessened the lines on my lips, aaaand just as an added bonus, it tastes delicious. I got the color 'Bloom' which is supposed to work for pretty much all skin tones, but check out their collection and find one that works for you! Get your hands on it here! (image: klairs) 3. Klair's Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask This is so sci-fi it's not even funny. The mask has a quality that no matter how much you use it, it will slide back into its previous shape like memory foam. So every time you open the jar it looks brand new. Because of this, when you put the mask on your face is really squeezes into your skin. When I wake up, my skin is literally glowing. Warning: I only use this once and week because I found that if I used it more than once a week I got a small breakout (gone the next day) on my nose. That could have been related to my time of the month, but I didn't want to risk it again, plus you really don't need to use it that often! Get your hands on it here! Doctors can personify the voices heard by people with schizophrenia. Instead of tormenting patients, the avatars get nicer over time, and in some cases totally relieve auditory hallucinations.
Schizophrenia: a mental disorder characterized by abnormal social behavior and failure to understand what is real. Common symptoms include false beliefs, unclear or confused thinking, hearing voices that others do not hear, reduced social engagement and emotional expression, and a lack of motivation. About 65% of patients with schizophrenia experience verbal auditory hallucinations, typically in the form of voices that emanate from perceived “others,” who tend to fit the same unsavory profile – they're domineering, derogatory and unremittingly hostile. (source) They tell them to do violent things, they cause them to lose control. But in a test in 2009-2011, there was a breakthrough in dealing with these violent voices. Giving the voices a face. The therapy allowed patients to create an avatar, or visual representation of the source of their perceived auditory hallucinations, known as the “persecutor,” whose speech closely matched the pitch and tone of the persecutory voice in their heads. Patients were then encouraged to engage in a dialogue with the avatar, who was controlled by a therapist. The results of the therapy were astounding, with some patients finding their hallucinations completely vanishing. Of course, there were some that did not have any change, but with the second round of testing an even higher percentage of patients found that their hallucinations lessened. According to the study’s lead author Tom K J Craig, PhD, FRCP, emeritus professor of social psychiatry at King’s College London, “The operation of power within this relationship is viewed as crucial…the voice-hearer assum[es] a submissive role characterized by feelings of inferiority and powerlessness that can reflect social relationships more generally,” researchers wrote. “The therapist (switching between speaking as therapist and as avatar) facilitates a dialogue in which the voice-hearer gradually gains increased power and control within the relationship, with the initially omnipotent voice loosening its grip over the hearer by becoming more conciliatory over time."
