I'm the type of person who wouldn't call themselves a procrastinator, but I have found that my work speed slows down throughout the day.
For me, the best way to get myself back on track is to take 5 to 10 minutes to either beat a game of solitaire, read a fun article, or do something with my hands like draw a quick picture.
I don't know why, but working through a task like these helps me remember what it's like to actually get things done, and makes getting through my work or studying easier! So today I'll intro you to one of my fave ways to get back on track: spirographs!!!
Do you remember these drawings?
I don't know if I was the only one lucky enough to have one of these sets at my grandma's house to always play with (that and the ever amazing Rubik's Race game), but I used to make these drawings for hours and hours. There's something great about being able to make art like this when you're not good at free drawing (I'm really, really not good at drawing...)
I don't have one of these sets anymore, but have no fear! I have a great alternative. There's actually a website where you can make Spiros!
Sure, its not as fun as making them by hand, but it's fun in its own way. You can choose pretty much any color, and learn how each of the spirals works pretty quickly.
I just made this one in about 5 minutes. Sure, it's not the prettiest, but I had fun making it!
Try it out! You might find that this was the only kind of break you needed today :D Good luck with your studying / work / whatever it is! Hopefully this helps you get back to focusing like it did for me XD
