I definitely have said this before (and I'll say it again!) but you should remember that you do not have to wait for the person you're interested in to make the first move!
If you're interested in someone, the best way isn't to try to sneakily get close to them or wait for them to come to you. You don't want to seem creepy to them! It's better to be somewhat direct and get a clear answer from them.
Afraid making the first move won't work? Nonsense!
Traditionally, guys are expected to make the first move, which is lame. Check out these stories from 5 girls who made the first move...and it worked out!
Helping Him Go First
"It's not really 'the first move' per se, but my boyfriend, before he was my boyfriend, wanted to kiss me on the last day of our sophomore year of high school. I knew he would be too afraid to do it so I came up with a plan to walk him home, and just as he was about to leave, I said, 'You can kiss me now if you want.' He said, 'That's a good idea' and went in for the kiss. It was pretty lame, especially in comparison to our kisses now, but he's very shy and awkward around people so it was fine."
Going Strong After 8 Months
"I'm currently dating a guy, or just my current boyfriend, that I approached first, initiated a conversation with first and asked out first. It has been going on for 8 months now, no regrets."
Confidence Comes with Time!
"I used to always feel too shy or just too weird to approach the guy first, but the older I get the more I just don't care about that. In fact, to start dating the person I'm with now, I was the first one to friend request him on Facebook and I was the first person to give him my phone number, and we're still together three years later."
"I approached my boyfriend when he was cleaning his car in his driveway. I invited him to this barbecue that was happening that night and ever since then, everything's been amazing. We've been together for almost 6 months, we rarely ever have big arguments or anything like that. He's the best boyfriend I've probably ever had. It just goes to show that you don't know, until you try. I was so hesitant to approach him but I was like ah screw it."
Awkward Turtle Couple
"We had been friends for about a year when I finally told him I liked him and he said he did too, and he was very awkward about it and didn't know what to do so I went ahead and asked him out."
