Update: A couple weeks ago, I told you all about my pug, Bowser. He had a Mast cell tumor on his leg, and we were scared it was going to be serious. Bowser is our first dog - he was a birthday present to my husband over 4 years ago. Since then, he has pretty much been our furry child; his health, therefore, is very important to us!
Bowser had surgery last week to get the tumor removed. As you can see, he wasn't excited over the notion, either! Actually, he just hates his dog seat belt and would rather be sitting in the front seat.
He has been recovering for a week, now. Even though he is convinced he is all healed up (he wants to run/jump/play per the norm), we have been limiting his mobility since the surgery was on the joint of his leg. Luckily, he is a pug, so he loves to sleep! He is a tough guy - other than the first night we got him back from the surgery, he has been very strong and acts like nothing ever happened! Now, for the good news: Bowser is healthy! The tumor was Stage I, which pretty much means it was benign (non-spreading). This means they were able to get rid of the tumor in it's entirety and it did not spread internally! Yay!!!!! All that is left is to allow his incision to heal up before getting the sutures removed next weekend. We also have to watch out for more tumors, but he will be considered fully cured if none pop up within 30 weeks! Thank you, everyone, for sending positive energy! DaniVO and Bowser
So happy for you!!
