Yukihira Souma's dream is to become a full-time chef in his father's restaurant and surpass his father's culinary skill. But just as Yukihira graduates from middle schools his father, Yukihira Jouichirou, closes down the restaurant to cook in Europe. Although downtrodden, Souma's fighting spirit is rekindled by a challenge from Jouichirou which is to survive in an elite culinary school where only 10% of the students graduate. Can Souma survive?

Cooking has never been cooler, we don't see that many cooking animes nowadays and the once already out are not that great or are just hiding. It's very intriguing as the "battles or shokugekis" are by cooking (kind of an obvious point, I'm sorry) but there are so many side stories as well which leaves you to want more every time. Also, this anime will make you hungry every time you watch it, full or not you'll get hungry believe me.
There's a huge range of different characters and all of them have different backgrounds, personality, charm and, of course, unique cooking skills. You will be always thinking what's this characters specialty every time a new character appears. The variety will never leave you empty, by the way, these guys are experts at torturing you with food.
The best part of the anime (figures lol). So many chefs, so many different techniques, so MUCH food O.O! The fact that the cuisine doesn't stop on Japanese cuisine is the best part. Chefs from all around the world means food from all around the world. There are even food that you might end up trying in real life just for the fun of it and hope that it will give you the same kind of food-gasm the anime gets!
I always focus OSTs as I love music and if the soundtrack is good, the anime becomes so much better. The first time I heard the intro I even looked for the actual band and I can happily say I'm a fan now.
Did I mention you'll be always hungry watching this anime? I dare you to tell me you're not hungry!
