The N.W.A. biopic has inspired a Hollywood and rappers to tell their story on the big screen. The next one up could be Death Row Records.
A report from The Hollywood Reporter says that the Agency for the Performing Arts is shopping a package to studios based on the book and documentary, Welcome To Death Row!
S. Leigh Savidge (who was a co-producer on Straight Outta Compton) seems to be involved with turning the record label’s story turned into a full-length feature film.
One of the biggest issues at the moment is that there are no music rights attached to the book "Welcome To Death Row" at the moment. If they can convince Suge Knight to sign off on this film, this could be EPIC.
Due to the success of the N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton," it's easy to see a Death Row Records film becoming a great success.
You have three hip-hop titans involved in the storyline in Dr.Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur. I would pay top dollar to see this one in theaters for sure.
