Start your weekend right! 5 Timeless Stucky Fics

Because the only thing better than one Capsicle is two.

I really enjoyed sharing my fic recs with everyone! So I thought I'd share some recs from the ship that is currently taking over my life: Stucky. That's right: Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes. I went to an awesome fan event a little over a year ago and got totally sucked into this ship. If you like tears, trauma, and terribly cute aus: 10/10 would recommend.
If you're not familiar with shipping, check out my card about it!

This, You Protect

by owlet
Rated PG
The mission resets abruptly, from objective: kill to objective: protect.
This is one of the funniest fics I have ever read in my entire life. Takes place right after the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Bucky Barnes is determined to protect Steve Rogers. And, if he’s working out who he was, who he wants to be now, and how to take care of himself after being brainwashed for seventy years, well, he can multi-task. So, he stalks Captain America, drinking coffee and befriending buildings, leaving a trail of beaten-up Hydra assassins in his wake.

Read this if you want to laugh and cry and feel really, really good.

To The One I've Sinned Against

by DiraSudis
Rated R
He knelt, touched his fingers to forehead, chest, left shoulder, right, and said more words than the soldier could ever remember speaking together. They came in a well-worn fluent rush, easier than any post-mission report: “Bless me Father, for I have sinned. It has been a long time since my last confession.”
Bucky, after the events of Winter Soldier, is finding himself. He remembers confession first, and is able to sort through his memories and remember the parts of himself that he lost.

Read this if you need the emotional catharsis of Civil War sooner rather than later.

Not Easily Conquered

by dropdeaddream & WhatAreFears
Rated PG-13
In 1945, Steve Rogers jumps from a nosediving plane and swims through miles of Arctic Ocean to a frozen shore. In 1947, Steve Rogers marries Peggy Carter. In 1966, the New York Times finds the lost letters of Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes.
Steve Rogers makes it back to New York, the war ends, and he lives his life. He starts a family. And years later, he finds out what Bucky felt for him. And he has to keep living, wondering what might have been. This is the ‘what if’ story that broke my heart, and it’s one of the best things I’ve read in the past five years. Oranges still make me cry thanks to this fic.

Read this if you want a story about history, heroism, and love.

All the Angels and All the Saints

by Speranza
Rated R
In which Steve Rogers loses God and finds God and loses God, and also: Bucky.
Follows Steve’s journey as he abandons and rediscovers his faith through WWII and beyond. His relationship with Bucky shifts and grows as he struggles with his relationship with God. As it says, every war story is a love story, and it’s not clear whether this is a war of guns and blood, or one for Steve’s immortal soul.

Read this if you want to get invested in a well-researched emotional drama.

It's Not Linear

by chaya
Rated PG-13
Steve looks for Bucky, Bucky finds Steve, Steve tries desperately to put Bucky back together. Bucky tries desperately to let him.
After the events of Winter Soldier, Bucky finds Steve. Together, they move into the Avengers Tower, and begin learning how to live again, free from Hydra. Their friends assemble, becoming a beautiful support team through panic attacks, nightmares, food issues, as well as all the things Bucky missed over the years.

Read this if you want all the healthy behavior and positive representation.

You all know what I'm going to do this weekend!

That's right. No need for sleep: I've got some serious Stucky fic to catch up on. I hope you enjoy these recs! Let me know what your favorites are. ^_^
