Get Familiar: Affordable Zara Perfumes You Need In Your Life

Most of you know Zara for it's amazing, trendy clothing.

What most of you don't know is that not only does Zara sell amazing clothing, but it sells some pretty amazing and affordable perfumes as well. While I was being ever so adventurous this summer I stumbled into a Zara retailer just to browse and I came across two walls full of fragrances. I was so surprised and after sniffing at least half of them, I couldn't leave empty handed. I was sold.
I'm all for an amazing fragrance, but I'm usually spending ridiculous prices for high end perfumes. Thanks to Zara, I was able to purchase two fragrances for a third of the price I would spend on just one high end perfume. Let's just say it was love at first sight -- or shall I say sniff. I have since purchased quite a few perfumes from the trendy retailer and I make it my duty to spread the word to woman like myself, who seem to spend an arm and a leg on high end perfumes. If you're not familiar with Zara's amazing perfumes, keep scrolling and allow yourself to fall in love. Unfortunately, you can't purchase the perfumes online -- but if you have a retailer near you, I urge you to make your way there as soon as possible.
If you're into woodsy scents that are perfect for those cooler months, this fragrance is the one for you. It's the perfect mix of amber with slight notes of fruit making it the perfect combination.
Anything white screams pure and fresh. This fragrance features floral notes that are perfect for those warm days and those sexy chilly nights. A little bit goes a long way. If you love the smell of jasmine and magnolia, Zara White would be the perfect match.
The great thing about these two fragrances is that you have the option of purchasing them together. Who doesn't love a two for one deal? You get one fruity fragrance and one oriental fragrance. So, technically you're getting the best of both worlds.
This was my first Zara perfume and let me just say I fell in love. I was a bit hesitant because I'm not a huge fan of the smell of rose, but I'm so glad I got my hands on this fragrance because it's the perfect mixture of floral and subtle without being too overbearing.
When I first stumbled upon this fragrance, I was a bit put off by the name. I was thinking, why in the world would anyone want to smell like apple juice? Thanks to a great friend, I gave this scent a whiff and fell in love. It's the perfect bit of fruity without being too overpowering. If you're not an apple juice drinker, you should definitely give wearing it a try.

Don't miss out on a good thing.

No need to mention it now, you can thank me later.

Cupid Countdown: Chic Love Story
Alright ladies, I wanted to share a card about dressing the part of your love story. And I'd LOVE to hear your love story, which you can comment on below, or even better, write a card about it! (YAY!!!!) When it comes to fashion, the basis of everything that we wear is utilitarianism--functional garments. However, that's just the beginning. The rest of it is based on style, beauty, trends, ideas, visions, goals and STORY. If you can believe it, we're not only well into 2016, but marching through February on a steady course. Two months in, with Valentine's Day peeking 'round the bend, what are you wearing to tell/attract your epic love story? When you interview for a job, you're told to dress for success; my contention is that we should be dressing for all areas of success in our lives. Are you looking for love? Maybe you're totally crushing right now. Are you dressing in a way that respects WHO YOU ARE while still telling your story? I put together this really cute #februarychic story board. It's about being fun, flirty, modest and love-story ready! GUCCI Plissé lamé mini dress $1,490 Gucci's mini dress is crafted from baby-pink lamé that shimmers with silver yarns - the plissé pleats add texture to create a high-shine effect. The classic shift silhouette is cinched at the center by an elasticated waist. The modesty of the neckline balances the length of the skirt. The glittering reflection of the lame gives this a flirty spice, while the soft color pink is delicate, feminine and Valentine appropriate. SAINT LAURENT Jane metallic lizard-effect leather sandals $695 Saint Laurent's signature 'Jane' sandals are updated in glossy rose gold lizard-effect leather. This Italian-made pair is designed with slim straps for a leg-lengthening effect. Virtually identical to the Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandal (that I LOVE), this is a modern approach to reptile as it has a pink-gold metal finish that is so hard to come by. It matches the dress without being matchy-matchy. And the open-toe sandal design is STUNNING! ROCKINS Flora printed silk crepe de chine scarf $29 The watercolor-inspired print that decorates Rockins' scarf pays homage to the botanical creations of Flora Starkey. This skinny style is cut from silk crepe de chine and finished with glossy fringing. Fringe may still be a by product of what was popular in 2015, but it's totally appropriate for this time of year as it adds a layer of modesty, femininity and "warmth" if his arms aren't already wrapped around you. The floral print says that you love all things pretty, especially flowers and wouldn't mind stopping by a sidewalk florist for a handful of posies. CHANEL No. 5 Perfume $100 Elegance. Beauty. Sophistication. And modern sensuality. Classic Chanel perfume fragrance that has stood the test of time and caressed the naked bodies of both women and men, vicariously. J. Lo said it best, "I judge people by how they smell, not what they look like." AMEN! Make sure you're hygiene is on point and your perfume is delicate, soft, yet punctuated with classic notes that tell YOUR STORY. Chanel may not be for you, but you should wear something that accents and works well with your body's chemistry. Wear just enough that he has to keep leaning in, closer and closer to get that intoxicating aroma. Too much will ward him off--doing the exact opposite of what you want. Now it's your turn! Victoria's Secret Perfume Repels Mosquitoes. Really.
When you're out getting a head start on your Christmas shopping this weekend, you might want to stop off at Victoria's Secret and pick up some perfume. A recent study published in the Journal of Insect Science has shown a pretty interesting relationship between mosquitoes and the Victoria's Secret perfume 'Bombshell', finding that wearing this perfume can actually prevent mosquito bites - sometimes more effectively than leading insect repellents currently on the market. The perfume - priced at a hefty $68 per bottle - might not be the most economical choice when selecting a bug repellent. However, researchers at New Mexico State's Molecular Vector Physiology Lab insist that discovering what makes this perfume so effective could help product developers continue moving away from the current active ingredient in most repellents on the market - DEET, a potentially toxic oil that can cause allergic reactions to those with sensitive skin. The lab tested 10 different repellents against a control and found that while DEET-based repellents worked more effectively overall, for a non-DEET product, the perfume remained a steadily effective repellent for over 2 hours. So, why does this Victoria's Secret perfume work so effectively? According to the report, the perfume was chosen for its purple passionfruit, peony, and vanilla orchid notes, citing that the team was interested in finding a correlation between mosquito activity and 'fruity, floral' fragrances. "There was some previous literature that said fruity, floral scents attracted mosquitoes, and to not wear those. It was interesting to see that the mosquitoes weren't actually attracted to the person that was wearing the Victoria's Secret perfume - they were repelled by it." So, will you be spritzing on some floral notes the next time you head out into the mosquito-filled world? Or would you much rather spring for a standard repellent - DEET and all? DIY Solid Perfume Balms
Did you happen to see the homemade perfume card I shared a week ago? You can see it by clicking here. However, this is a different idea where using perfume, you can create solid balms. This easy diy allows you to pour into moulds or into cosmetic trays. These would be perfect for camping, on-the-go and for cute gifts to your girlfriends. Supplies Needed: Beeswax Sweet Almond Oil (or another carrier oil such as coconut) Fragrance oils of your choice (Lemon, Sandalwood, Vanilla, and Lavender) Containers to hold your perfume (cosmetic trays, lockets, tins, etc.) Step 1. Recipe is always the same because it's based on ratios: equal parts beeswax and carrier oil. Start a small batch of 2 tbsp of beeswax and 2 tbsp of carrier oil. TIP: If you find your beeswax/oil mixture to be too thick once you are melting down, you can always add a little more oil as you go. Step 2. Get your perfume scent on point before you start the melting process. Make sure it's a subtle scent. A good rule of thumb is to create a scent that isn't so strong that it would prevent you from having a good night's rest. Start with 10-15 drops and increase from there. TIP: So much "smelling" may turn off your receptors, preventing you from smelling the fragrance. To reset your senses and start over, take a whiff of coffee beans. This will clear the scent from your head. Step 3. Prep your containers for hot wax. You want lids off and everything prepped and open. Step 4. Use a double boiler to heat your beeswax and oil on the stove. DO NOT MICROWAVE! Be sure to heat your beeswax on low/medium heat and stir as it melts down. Add your fragrance oil into the melted mixture once the beeswax is completely melted. Step 5. Carefully pour the hot wax into your containers. They will start to harden quickly. If they harden too fast, simply return to the double boiler and heat up. Let this set up and harden. Then you are able to slide it onto your skin for a silky perfume balm that will feel and smell amazing!
Friday Favorites: Weekly Beauty Favorites
Is it just me or have the weeks been flying by this summer? Probably just me, but either way -- it's Friday ladies and you already know what that means. You guessed it! It's time for me to share with you my favorite beauty items of the week. This week has been a great way beauty wise and I must give all thanks to these amazing products that helped my face look somewhat decent. I've been trying to ween myself off of purchasing cosmetics, but last weekend was my birthday so I decided to do a little damage. When the damage is done, there's no turning back and I can't say I'm upset -- these beauty items definitely didn't let me down. Beauty Fave #1: Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick in Requiem I purchased this lipstick on a whim after initially going in to purchase a lipstick they were sold out of. I am extremely pleased that the sales associate persuaded me to get this beautiful matte lavender shade from Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Lipstick collection. It dries quickly and literally stays on all day -- maybe that's why it's called everlasting? Clever Kat, clever. Beauty Fave #2: Kiko Cosmetics Eyeshadow in Pearly Wine This is the perfect shade of wine. I'm not much of an eyeshadow wearer, but I am obsessed with this shade and it doubles up as an amazing blush/contour. Beauty Fave #3: Zara Chocolate Perfume For Women This fragrance smells delicious. That's all. I urge you to try it out for yourself, you'll fall in love. Since purchasing, whenever I wear it -- I literally get nothing but compliments. Beauty Fave #4: NARS Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella Thanks to Sephora for such a great birthday gift. This is the perfect shade of red and unlike Ruby Woo, it's very moisturizing -- non-drying and it also lasts all day long. What beauty products helped get you through the week? If you missed my beauty faves from last week -- click here.
