The 2015 season has been up and down from the Detroit Tigers, and it seems as if ownership isn't happy with the product on the field.

The Detroit Free Press and WDIV-TV in Detroit both reported Thursday night, citing sources, that owner Mike Ilitch will dismiss Ausmus after the Oct. 4 season finale against the Chicago White Sox.
Good or bad move?

Right now the Tigers sit at 64-76. Many people said the Tigers had the talent to win the division, but was that true?

If you look at the season in whole, Ausmus coached the majority of the year without a boatload of his key players, and the ones who played had down years. Justin Verlander began the season on the disabled list with a triceps injury. Slugger Miguel Cabrera was sidelined for five weeks with a calf injury in July. Victor Martinez had a DL stint with knee inflammation in May.

To make matters worst, the team dealt away their ace in David Price and a key bat in Cespedes to the Mets. Oh and what about the loss of top 10 pitcher in Max Scherzer in the off-season?

I think this guy deserves a pass and a couple better pieces before he get pulled, @jeff4122 @mchlyang what do you think?
@jeff4122 true....but I feel like the org could give him one more chance haha
@mchlyang i think you're right, but at the end of the day it's about results. sometimes a good manager ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time and that's enough to be fired. that seems to be the case here...
I think it's a pretty unfair decision by the Tigers organisation considering the fact that he didn't have a stable starting rotation. First, they lost Scherzer, a 15+ win pitcher, to the Nats. Second, Verlander did not have his usual stuff at the beginning of the season and he was also on the DL for the longest time just as you have mentioned. Lastly, they traded David Price midseason.....what do you expect when you suddenly don't have your best three starting pitchers? I mean yes you have Miguel Cabrera but without a stable pitching rotation you can't possibly expect the manager to perform well.
@christianmordi Well put! Thats exactly how I feel. And I just saw a Yahoo Sports article that said nothing is official yet! Hopefully the org would give Ausmus one more shot.
@jeff4122 @mchlyang I see both of your points, but I feel like Ausmus deserves another year. To lose so many quality players to injuries and trades are unreal. Any team that loses a guy like Max S with no compensation in return is expected to dip some.. To be honest, I don't think that division gets enough love, there are some talented teams and players in it.. I mean the Royals just hit the W.Series out of it.. expectations may have been a bit high IMO for them..
