Yankees Jersey in Boston?

What would happen if someone wore a Yankees jersey in Boston?

As former MLB commissioner Bud Selig once said, "You can talk about the Dodgers and Giants, the Cardinals and Cubs, the Packers and the Bears, Ohio State-Michigan, but there's nothing like the Red Sox and the Yankees." As you can tell from Mr. Selig's quote, it's pretty obvious that the Yankees and the Red Sox hate each other. So who in their right mind would wear a Yankees jersey in Boston?
Well, this brave, young lad decided to take charge and sacrifice himself for the weakhearted.

And it wasn't just any Yankees uniform.

It was Alex Rodriguez's, one of the most hated player in the whole league. He decided to wear a Rodriguez jersey and walk around Fenway Park, the home and heart of the Boston Red Sox!
As our brave soldier changed into his Rodriguez Jersey, a biker passes by and warns him.

"I wouldn't wear that here."

But as soon as he starts walking around the streets of Boston, he comes across a sign that he probably did not want to see in a Yankees jersey.

New York Sucks!

People stopped in the midst of their meals to boo our brave young soldier.

And it didn't simply stop with boos. Bostonians in cabs, Bostonians on the street, even Bostonians on their phones did not hesitate to yell:

Yankees suck!

Then he runs into one jacked Bostonian who says:

Why you wearing that shirt man?

You got the wrong f**kin shirt on dude.

Yeah man, why you in Boston wearing that shirt?

And it doesn't simply stop with some threatening comments.

BOOM! POW! HOLY SH*T!

He got punched in the face for simply wearing a Yankees jersey!

Well, at least he was brave enough to do something that most of us would not have been able to ever dream of doing! And thanks to him ladies and gentleman, we learned a very important lesson today:

Never, ever wear a Yankees jersey (or anything Yankees related) in Boston!

Here is a full video of what happened when he walked around Boston wearing a Rodriguez jersey! Enjoy!

The Woman Who Struck Out Babe Ruth
And Lou Gehrig too. On April 2, 1931 the seventeen year-old Jackie Mitchell struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig back-to-back. They were arguably the deadliest hitting duo in baseball history, and she did it in only seven pitches. Which is pretty damn impressive. Less impressive is what happened afterwards. "They are too delicate. It would kill them to play ball every day." Ruth wasn't the most gracious in defeat (via), and some historians have dismissed the exhibition game as an April Fool's Prank. It's unlikely that Ruth would have been visibly upset if he struck out on purpose, nor would he have asked the umpire to inspect the ball. And a few days later, Mitchell's contract was voided on the basis that baseball was "too strenuous" for women. Yeah, beating some of the most famous players of all time sounds really strenuous. What if she broke a nail?! /sarcasm She kept playing anyway. So clearly the game wasn't TOO strenuous (she died in 1987 at the age of 74). She joined the amateur team House of David in 1933, and retired in 1937. Meanwhile, women weren't formally banned from the MLB until 1952, though unofficially they were often kept off the field. Such was the case for Eleanor Engle, who never took the field. The President of the minor leagues stated that no contract with a woman would be approved because “not in the best interest of baseball that such travesties be tolerated.” In the 1970s girls were allowed to join Little League, in the 80s women joined college baseball, and in the 1990s, Ila Borders joined the St. Paul Saints of the independent Northern League. But no female player has reached the majors (yet). But the 100-year anniversary of the time a teenage girl struck out some of the toughest hitters in baseball history. Maybe it'll happen again in 2031?
Jeter addresses his one-night stand ritual
The former Yankees captain is known not only for his illustrious career on the field, but also his off-the-field life. One rumor that followed Jeter throughout his career was that after his one-night stands (which he's had with a numerous ladies), he would send them off with a basket of his own memorabilia. And he's not the one usually coming out to address these stories, but he had to come out and address this one. Check out his interview with Joe Buck below! During the interview, Jeter said, "I don't address them because — well, I guess I just did — but because once you address it, you have to address every single rumor that comes out and then if one time if you don't, they automatically assume it's true. So I just chose not to address any rumors out there, but that's gotta be the dumbest one I've heard." He also asked the audience, "You guys really believe that? My own memorabilia, I'm signing?" Well, to tell you the truth, I wouldn't mind getting a gift basket of Derek Jeter's memorabilia after spending a night at his place! I miss Jeter so much! But I'm glad he addressed this one out in public! He was given so much shit for this and the captain deserves better. I had to let you guys know that Jeter isn't that much of an asshole! @jeff4122 @christianmordi @TessStevens @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @DonnaMelton @InPlainSight @jokes @BEAUTYgirlARIEL @David19Flo23 @karencorchado @salahabdalla @Moose892 @BrookieyElba @SamuelRodriguez @ValerieAlissaPa @xitlalicordova1 @AndrewMaldonado @Jovi @Shippudenguy21 @AbdulrahmanSaad @trinityarcangel @thefeels @Link4TW @ChriSingularis @sanazsanaz @WilliamBrown @DannyMoses @ClaySharko @Ravenwing92 @FromBlue2U @TravisBeck @LemissaNicole @BossDominata @gatorchick96 @MatthewBoughton @MarcusJiles @BrandonMcNeil @MalikLawary @KyleBerke @manbungo2000 @DerekGumtow @havic @Straightshooter @PhilAnthony @Kirooken @yaakattackk @RodneyYoung @DreJones @JonathanKerns @bnzattoni @TravisManning @GalacticChakra @smothgreen @afxs @johnnolastname @ChristopherKenn @ChasePage @coreywriley91@MikeWolf @MrTenThirty @JasonNilsson @BrunoDutch @SherzTYC @krishntejanand @addri @ChrisStephens @AniBreo @GinnaL13 @VeronicaArtino @mishthi @andwas @TomasVasquez @oct6eg10 @NimishMathur @Sydsocquet @Darlin972 @GingerMJones @starli
I'm Ashamed of My Hometown
San Diego, get your shit together. Each year at the Padres stadium, Petco Park, the LGBT society in SD holds an event called "Out at the Park" that is meant to bring the community together for an evening of baseball. This year, Petco Park really, really screwed up. The San Diego Men's Gay Chorus was meant to sing the national anthem before the game to represent the LGBT community for this event. Their voices were never heard. The stadium let them take the field, and then as they were about to sing, a recorded female voice instead sang the anthem (which, if you've been to a Padres game, isn't something that happens - we always have live singing) The men had to walk off the field hearing people shouting profane, homophobic things at them. The Padres said it was a mistake, a technical error, a third party contractor, and that they were sorry. But that doesn't explain the other examples of mistreatment. Days prior to the game, the Padres organization told the performers that the chorus would have to pay for their tickets in order to sing. This is not something that happens, ever. If you perform the national anthem, you get to enter the park for free, DUH. Why did the Padres suddenly want this now? That would have cost the small organization thousands of dollars, and after dispute they were finally allowed in as performers. You can listen to their great voices here when they performed in 2015. It's a pity their voices weren't heard this year. Get it together Padres, you're a disappointment in baseball but don't be a disappointment to your entire community.
Love It Or Hate It: Live Sporting Events?
Welcome to the Funny Community game, Love It Or Hate It! This game is really similar to Monday's 'No Good or So Good' food game - except this one deals a lot more with non-food things. Every week, I highlight a different thing that a lot of people either really love or really hate and see how our community feels overall! Last week, I asked you how you felt about SELFIE STICKS. It was an EXTREMELY tight vote, but out of the 60 who gave your opinion, 33 of you said that they're actually kind of useful! Soooo... SELFIE STICKS WIN!!!! This week, I want to know: How do you feel about attending live sports games? Spectator sports have been around since the days of Ancient Greece, but the ones we know and love today came into being in the mid 19th century! The number of Americans that attend at least one live sporting event annually is easily in the tens of millions. However, the amount of them that find said sporting event COMPLETELY BORING is still widely unknown. How do YOU feel about spectator sports? Are they tons of fun or brutally boring?
