MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/11/15)

Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day!

5. Rougned Odor (Texas Rangers)

What a catch by Odor! Of course, the shift definitely helped, but that's what stats are for, right? Even Shin Soo Choo thought Odor wasn't going to make that catch. Look at him backing up Odor and getting ready to jump for the bounce. The Rangers are on fire and looking to clinch the division title from the Astros. And they also beat the A's 4-0.

4. Kyle Schwarber (Chicago Cubs)

A Top Play-worthy play from another hot team, the Chicago Cubs! No fence is going to stop Schwarber from making an amazing play. What a nice over-the-shoulder running catch from the Cubs left-fielder to rob a potential double from Ryan Howard. The Cubs beat the Phillies 7-3.

3. Daniel Castro (Atlanta Braves)

Diving play and a perfect throw on his knees by Daniel Castro! The Braves rookie, who's been spectacular so far, robbed a hit from Tejada. Castro also showed some skills at the plate collecting two hits. His team however lost to the Mets 5-1.

2. Michael Bourn (Atlanta Braves)

Another great play from the Atlanta Braves and possibly one of the best catches of the year as well. Conforto hits one deep center but Michael Bourn makes the catch! I personally thought that was going over the fence, but the Braves' center fielder certainly didn't think so. Not to piss off any Braves fans, but again, the Braves lost this one 5-1.

1. Angel Pagan (San Francisco Giants)

It doesn't look like the Giants are going to make the playoffs this year but Pagan is still on his a-game. Kemp certainly thought he hit his 22nd home run of the season, but no! Pagan robs Kemp's homer and leads the Giants to a 9-1 victory over the Padres.
Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games!

It's playoff time! Who's excited? I know I am - and I bet my fellow baseball fans are too! @mchlyang @christianmordi @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl !! Let's take a look at the Wild Card and NLDS schedule. It all gets started this Tuesday at 8PM ET as Houston travels to the Bronx to face the Yankees. The Yankees could have a tough time with the AL Cy Young frontrunner and 20-game winner, but it should be an intense game one way or the other. Win or go home! In the NL Wild Card, the Cubs face the Pirates in Pittsburgh at 8PM ET on Wednesday. This game also features a likely Cy Young winner, as Jake Arrieta will look to continue his masterful second half and knock out the Cubs' division rivals. After those Wild Card games are settled, we enter into the Division Series. Each series is a 5-game set, with the team with home field advantage playing host in games 1, 2, and 5. Both sets in the National league follow the same schedule of games. Love It Or Hate It: Live Sporting Events?
Welcome to the Funny Community game, Love It Or Hate It! This game is really similar to Monday's 'No Good or So Good' food game - except this one deals a lot more with non-food things. Every week, I highlight a different thing that a lot of people either really love or really hate and see how our community feels overall! Last week, I asked you how you felt about SELFIE STICKS. It was an EXTREMELY tight vote, but out of the 60 who gave your opinion, 33 of you said that they're actually kind of useful! Soooo... SELFIE STICKS WIN!!!! This week, I want to know: How do you feel about attending live sports games? Spectator sports have been around since the days of Ancient Greece, but the ones we know and love today came into being in the mid 19th century! The number of Americans that attend at least one live sporting event annually is easily in the tens of millions. However, the amount of them that find said sporting event COMPLETELY BORING is still widely unknown. How do YOU feel about spectator sports? Are they tons of fun or brutally boring? MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/23/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Alcides Escobar (Kansas City Royals) As soon as that was hit, we knew it was going to be a Texas hit. Well...except for Royals shortstop Alcides Escobar! It was a little bloop but Escobar chased it so well and times his elegant leap perfectly to catch the ball and get the out. The Royals beat the Mariners 4-3. 4. Lonnie Chisenhall (Cleveland Indians) The ball was lifted to short right. Second baseman, Jason Kipnis was out and he had a very good reason for it. Lonnie Chisenhall calls for the ball and gets it on a diving catch. I am pretty sure he had one eye on the ball and the other on his second baseman to make everything so perfect. The Indians however fall to the Twins 4-2. 3. Cameron Maybin (Atlanta Braves) We've seen a lot of elegant leaps today. But you have to give Maybin credit for his leap on the warning track, near the fence. The breaking ball was lined to center but he backed quickly and showed us that center field was his territory. Very nice play from the Braves centerfielder! The Braves beat the Mets 6-3. 2. Kyle Schwarber (Chicago Cubs) It went high in the air but Schwarber never took his eyes off the ball as soon as it made contact with the bat. He had a quick start and times his dive perfectly to catch the ball on the warning track. I seriously don't know how he caught it. He went all out for it as you can see him slide all the way to the fence. Despite Schwarber's fantastic play, the Cubs fell to the Brewers 4-1. 1. Yogi Berra Tribute Yes. Number one goes to Yogi Berra, as his life and career is celebrated around Major League Baseball. I would like to pay my respect to one of the greatest baseball players. He wasn't just a great baseball player though. He was a great man and he will truly be missed. RIP Yogi Berra (1925 - 2015) Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games!
