Jake Arrieta has one of the best turnaround stories in the MLB over the past couple of years.
With the season wrapping up and the Cubs on pace to make their first post season appearance in a decade, a lot of thanks should be given to the new ace.
While thanks are surely in store, a CY Young award would be better.. but is he the best pitcher in baseball?
Lets take a look at the numbers.
At this point in the season, Arrieta is 19-6 for the Cubs. The 6-5 hurler has fanned 200 batters while boasting an excellent ERA of 1.99.
Very impressive right?
While I know everyone is in love with Grienke and Kershaw, I don't think it's far fetched to give Jake the nod for the CY.
Everyone was expecting the Dodgers to take the next step this year, but no one expected the Cubs to get this good this fast. Jake plays a huge part in this teams emergence.
Based on his impact and the pieces around him, Arrieta should win the award. What about you?
