Three Reasons Why You Should Be Co-Washing Your Hair

co-wash [v.] - better known as conditioner washing is cleansing your hair with conditioner rather than shampoo.

For you ladies who frequently wash your hair, co-washing might be your new best friend. You know how time consuming wash day can be. You have to wash your hair, deep condition your hair, condition your hair, blow dry your hair and the list goes on. Frustrating would probably be the best term to describe it, but when it comes to co-washing you cut that entire process in half and your hair is still left clean.
If your hair happens to be naturally curly, wavy or even dry -- you're automatically a candidate for co-washing your hair. If you're tired of your high water bill and even more tired of spending countless hours washing your tress, take a look at the reasons why co-washing is beneficial listed below.

Keeps Both Your Hair And Scalp Moisturized

We all know shampoo can be super drying and if not rinsed out completely, it can cause build up. Conditioner will do the complete opposite and fully moisturized.

Your Curls Will Be Defined

Your curls will literally pop, thanks to a lubricated and conditioned hair shaft.

Your Hair Will Be Both Silky And Smooth

According to senior hair colorist, Nicole Tresch at Rita Hazan Salon says, "Since unshampooed hair retains more of its natural oils than shampooed hair, the conditioner’s moisturizing agents will now leave strands even smoother and silkier than usual."
Whether wash day is today or coming up soon, make sure you co-wash.
You won't regret it and your hair will thank you.

It is so awesome, @jordanhamilton, I am so gald I use this technique. I am like rolling around the bed with my nice smooth, soft hair, lol. Thanks for the technique!:D
I started doing this a few weeks ago and I have oily hair so I let conditioner set while I shower and shave then rinse and use shampoo only on the roots and rinse at very end. I use to never use conditioner on my roots ever and few years ago started having problems with dandruff. now I feel like my scalp and hair is getting the moisture it needs without weighing my hair down. i dont notice any improvement in softness as it's relatively healthy but it just feels good to feel like I'm doing my hair a favor!
it's always amazing to give your hair some extra TLC. I think possibly adding some olive oil to your hair might provide you that extra softness you're looking for. I'm glad that you're doing your hair a favor. we all should :)
