Cleveland Sets Off Fireworks for the KC Royals!

So you know when a player hits a home run, they usually set off fireworks to celebrate, right?

But you usually don't set it off when the opposing player hits one, because...well, you'd be making the home fans really, really unhappy!
Well that is exactly what happened last night at Progressive Field last night during the match between the Cleveland Indians and the Kansas City Royals.

Alex Rios of the KC Royals hit a monster solo shot to left field and the Cleveland fireworks guy responded with fireworks!

I feel you brother! Everyone makes a mistake once in awhile....
But apparently, the Cleveland fans did not appreciate it.

Just take a look at this video and hear the fans boo the sh*t out of the poor dude!

Well for all the perfect people in this world that never makes mistakes the Indians Twitter guy responded....

Yes. Give the guy a break guys!

I guess maybe not today...especially after a loss!

But hey Cleveland fans!

Let's not forget these wise(?) words from Jim Carrey!

MLB Top 5 Plays of the Day (10/04/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Starlin Castro (Chicago Cubs) It was a fair ball down the first baseline. But after Anthony Rizzo fumbled the ball, it looked like it was going to be a base hit. But Castro beautifully went to cover for Rizzo and tossed the ball the Dan Haren to get the out! The Cubs beat the Brewers 3-1 in their final regular season game. 4. Nick Noonan (San Francisco Giants) This one was skied shallow to center field. We saw something similar the night before so when Nick Noonan went for it, we knew magic was going to happen once again. He followed the ball nicely to make the catch! The Giants however fell to the Rockies 7-3 in their final game of the season. 3. Jose Ramirez (Cleveland Indians) It was hit deep second base, but Jose Ramirez followed the ball perfectly and spun around to make a perfect throw to first. He not only got the out, he also made it to the Top 5 Plays of the Day! The Indians beat the Red Sox 3-1. 2. Kris Bryant (Chicago Cubs) The superstar rookie is still on fire as he preps for his first ever Major League post season. Bryant made that smooth backhand catch and made a jump toss all the way to first to get the out! What was even more incredible was the fact that it was a no hopper. He also got a standing ovation from the fans. Again, the Cubs beat the Brewers 3-1. 1. Nolan Reimold (Baltimore Orioles) The ball was hit high into left-center field. The wind was carrying the ball further and further away from Reimold, but he wasn't going to give up. Just as the ball was about to hit the ground, Reimold dived and caught the ball! What a play by Reimold! The Orioles beat the Yankees 9-2 for their final game of the season. Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games!
Blue Jays fight one back
Toronto needed one, and they got it. After dropping Games 1 and 2 to the Royals in Kansas City, the Blue Jays absolutely had to have Game 3 in order to save their season. Going down 3-0 would not have boded well for their chances. Early in the game, it looked like Kansas City was going to continue their hot streak - they scored in the top of the first to make it 1-0. However, the Blue Jays jumped on Johnny Cueto, scoring 3 runs in the second and putting up a six spot in the 3rd. Cueto has been all over the place recently. After being traded from the Reds to the Royals at the deadline in the summer, when he was one of the best pitchers in the league, the long-haired monster has struggled mightily since coming to Kansas City. He had a few good starts in earlier in the playoffs, but was rocked in Monday's game, putting up a line of 2.0 innings pitched, walking 4 and allowing 6 hits and 8 runs. Das not good. Blue Jays starter Marcus Strohman wasn't great - he allowed 11 hits over 6.1 innings - but he limited the damage to 4 runs allowed, which was enough on a night that the Blue Jays really had the bats going. So now the series is 2-1, still in favor of the Royals, with two more games in Toronto before the series heads back to Kansas City for Game 6 and Game 7. It's getting tighter, and tonight's game will go a long way to either watching Kansas City start to wrap things up or seeing Toronto level the thing at 2. Tonight, it's knuckeballer R.A. Dickey for Toronto vs. Chris Young for the Royals. I'm happy to see Dickey, an ex-Met, get a really key start in the playoffs. I'm rooting for the Royals in this series, but think Toronto gets the win tonight behind the veteran starter. What do you think? Will KC take a 3-1 lead tonight or can Toronto continue to fight? @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @DonnaMelton @jokes @BEAUTYgirlARIEL @David19Flo23 @karencorchado @SamuelRodriguez @xitlalicordova1 @AndrewMaldonado @Link4TW @DannyMoses @ClaySharko @Ravenwing92 @FromBlue2U @LemissaNicole @BossDominata @MalikLawary @KyleBerke

The 5 Strangest Superstition in Sports!
Hello sports fans! It's Friday the 13th! Here are some of the strangest superstitions in sports! Michael Jordan Michael always wore his UNC shorts under his NBA shorts. Thus, he wore longer shorts than his fellow players at that time. In the end however, his fellow players followed suit after the legend. Serena Williams Serena Williams is known for not changing socks once during a tournament. It sucks to wear a pair of socks for more than a day...imagine how it would feel to wear the same socks for an entire tournament! I guess Serena doesn't mind it considering the number of tournaments she has won. Brian Ulracher Brian Ulracher ate two chocolate chip cookies before every game. Maybe that was the secret to his muscular body. I think it'd be fair to call him the "Cookie Monster". Caron Butler Caron Butler was known to be an avid fan of Mountain Dew. He loved the drink so much that he drank before and during every game. During his UNC days, he asked his wife to pick him a 2-L bottle of the green stuff, and drank half of it before the game, and the rest during half-time. In 2007, the Wizards and NBA banned him from drinking it during games so he eventually quit the whole thing in 2009. Moises Alou This one has to be the most f*cked up one out of all of them. Moises Alou used to pee on his own hands to harden them! Should we see that as commitment to the game of baseball or just some pretty weird ass shit? Oh and by the way, don't try to harden your hands by peeing on them ladies and gentlemen, because doctors have confirmed that peeing on your hand doesn't harden them. It actually softens them. @jeff4122 @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @DonnaMelton @InPlainSight @jokes @BEAUTYgirlARIEL @David19Flo23 @karencorchado @salahabdalla @Moose892 @BrookieyElba @SamuelRodriguez @ValerieAlissaPa @xitlalicordova1 @AndrewMaldonado @Jovi @Shippudenguy21 @AbdulrahmanSaad @trinityarcangel @thefeels @Link4TW @ChriSingularis @sanazsanaz @WilliamBrown @DannyMoses @ClaySharko @Ravenwing92 @FromBlue2U @TravisBeck @LemissaNicole @BossDominata @gatorchick96 @MatthewBoughton @MarcusJiles @BrandonMcNeil @MalikLawary @KyleBerke @manbungo2000 @DerekGumtow @havic @Straightshooter @PhilAnthony @Kirooken @yaakattackk @RodneyYoung @DreJones @JonathanKerns @bnzattoni @TravisManning @GalacticChakra @smothgreen @afxs @johnnolastname @ChristopherKenn @ChasePage @coreywriley91@MikeWolf @MrTenThirty @JasonNilsson @BrunoDutch @SherzTYC @krishntejanand @addri @ChrisStephens What was your favorite one from the list? The Woman Who Struck Out Babe Ruth
And Lou Gehrig too. On April 2, 1931 the seventeen year-old Jackie Mitchell struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig back-to-back. They were arguably the deadliest hitting duo in baseball history, and she did it in only seven pitches. Which is pretty damn impressive. Less impressive is what happened afterwards. "They are too delicate. It would kill them to play ball every day." Ruth wasn't the most gracious in defeat (via), and some historians have dismissed the exhibition game as an April Fool's Prank. It's unlikely that Ruth would have been visibly upset if he struck out on purpose, nor would he have asked the umpire to inspect the ball. And a few days later, Mitchell's contract was voided on the basis that baseball was "too strenuous" for women. Yeah, beating some of the most famous players of all time sounds really strenuous. What if she broke a nail?! /sarcasm She kept playing anyway. So clearly the game wasn't TOO strenuous (she died in 1987 at the age of 74). She joined the amateur team House of David in 1933, and retired in 1937. Meanwhile, women weren't formally banned from the MLB until 1952, though unofficially they were often kept off the field. Such was the case for Eleanor Engle, who never took the field. The President of the minor leagues stated that no contract with a woman would be approved because “not in the best interest of baseball that such travesties be tolerated.” In the 1970s girls were allowed to join Little League, in the 80s women joined college baseball, and in the 1990s, Ila Borders joined the St. Paul Saints of the independent Northern League. But no female player has reached the majors (yet). But the 100-year anniversary of the time a teenage girl struck out some of the toughest hitters in baseball history. Maybe it'll happen again in 2031?
MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/24/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Cody Anderson (Cleveland Indians) We saw something similar a few days ago with David Price. Well, he's not the only one in the Major Leagues with monster reflexes. Cody Anderson of the Cleveland Indians wasn't even thinking when he lowered his glove. And the next second, the ball was sitting right there in his glove. The Tribe beats the Twins 6-3. 4. Chase Headley (New York Yankees) The ball was hit hard to third, but Chase Headley wasn't going to let it get passed by him. He dived to stop the ball and got up quickly to fire the ball from foul territory all the way to first to get the out. He robbed a hit from Abreu for sure and possibly one or two RBIs. The Yankees inch past the White Sox 3-2. 3. Nolan Arenado (Colorado Rockies) It was a tough ball for Nolan Arenado. But we know we have seen plenty of great plays from the Rockies third baseman. Arenado grabs it barehand and throws a rocket to first to get the out. This play made his case for a Gold Glove a lot stronger. The Pirates however beat the Rockies 5-4. 2. Marcell Ozuna (Miami Marlins) The ball was hit right center and Marcell Ozuna knew exactly where the ball was going. He did not hesitate one bit and timed his slide perfectly to make it to the second spot on the Top Plays list. With a very strong defense game, the Marlins beat the Phillies 1-0. 1. Miguel Rojas (Miami Marlins) Yes, the Miami defense game was on point tonight and the best play of the night goes to another Miami Marlin, Miguel Rojas. It sure looked like it was going to be a base hit up the middle, but Rojas dived, got on his feet, and fired one to first to get the out. And with great defensive plays from Rojas and Ozuna, the Marlins beat the Phillies, 1-0. Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games! MLB Top Plays of the Day (09/22/15)
Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day! 5. Andres Blanco (Philadelphia Phillies) The ball was grounded towards second, but Andres Blanco dives and smothers it. He throws to first on his knees and gets the batter out to end the inning. The way he spun on the ground was so smooth and elegant, he made it look easy. The Phillies also beat the Marlins 6-2. 4. Billy Burns (Oakland A’s) Shin Soo Choo lines the ball hard to center field. But Burns already took off as soon as the ball made contact and he is there to make the diving catch. Choo is robbed a hit as Burns makes a break and gets there before the ball hits the ground. Despite Burns's amazing play, the A's fall to the Rangers 8-6. 3. Nick Ahmed (Arizona Diamondbacks) Where are all these amazing shortstops coming from? Nick Ahmed dives for the ball and manages to stop it before it gets to the outfield. He doesn't even get up fully and manages to throw perfectly to the second baseman sideways! This is truly an amazing play and with the combination of a great defense and a hot offense, the Diamondbacks crush the Dodgers 8-0. 2. Francisco Lindor (Cleveland Indians) Francisco Lindor makes the list once again. He seems to pull something crazy every time he plays. This time, even the commentators thought for sure it was going to be a hit. But no, Lindor makes the diving backhand catch, gets up, and throws a laser beam to first to get the batter out. Cleveland however falls to Minnesota 3-1. 1. Jose Bautista (Toronto Blue Jays) Today's number one play goes to Jose Bautista. It was a fly ball to right and Chris Young was ready to tag home. But you have to understand good old Joey Bats is not simply a monster on offense. He may have a sore shoulder but this guy still has one of the best arms in the league. He makes the throw in time to get Young out. And do you know what's even more impressive? That was his second assist of the night. I know @jeff4122 is going to like this very much. Now that was your Top 5 Plays of the Day from last night's games! What was your favorite play of the day? @christianmordi @jeff4122 @ljk901023 @TessStevens @ButterflyBlu @superiorsl @Starbell808 @jokes @DonnaMelton *If you guys would like to be tagged every time I upload a Top 5 Plays of the Day card, please let me know by commenting on the comments section below!
