This Or That: Ruby Kisses Lipstick Vs. Kat Von D Lipstick

You can never have too many lipsticks.

If you happen to be a lipstick hoarder like myself than you probably have lipsticks in places you don't even know of. It's inevitable. You can't have too many lipsticks, but you can in fact have too many of the same color lipstick. We have a way of buying more than we need and never using half of what we own. Instead of purchasing identical products from different brands, stick to one brand and save yourself some money. I know it is easier said than done, but it will benefit you in the long run.
If you're a fan of matte lipsticks [which I hope you are], than I'm sure you have tried either Ruby Kisses Lip Lacquer lipstick or Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid lipstick. While one is three times the price of the other, both lipsticks happen to be similar. If you haven't tried them, I suggest you do. Although, Kat Von D's lipstick is of better quality [hence the price], Ruby Kisses has a wider range of color. Below I have compared lip products from both brands in hopes of helping you choose the best matte lipstick for you.

Comparison #1:

Ruby Kisses - Wonderland

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - Requiem

Although the Kat Von D Lipstick in Requiem looks like it has pink undertones, it is very true to color. Like Ruby Kisses Lipstick in Wonderland, Requiem is a high pigmented lavender tone. Wonderland is a creamy matte that leaves your lips feeling moisturized throughout the day, whereas Requiem is a fast drying matte that may leave your lips extra dry if you don't exfoliate before applying.

Comparison #2:

Ruby Kisses - Mirage

[the one seen on the far right]

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - Lolita

One of the two Kat Von D Liquid lipsticks that are constantly sold out. It's an obvious best seller. For that very reason, you can easily get a similar look with a creamier consistency by using Ruby Kisses matte lipstick in Mirage. Although, Lolita looks like a dark shade and Mirage looks extremely light, it is most definitely the packaging. The two are not a far off comparison.

Comparison #3:

Ruby Kisses - Fiesta

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick - Backstage Bambi

If you want the perfect dupe these two [Fiesta and Backstage Bambi] are literally a match made in lipstick heaven. The packaging will definitely throw you off. It's best to swatch beforehand when buying in stores or google images before purchasing via the internet.

And to think I said you can never have too many lipsticks.

i love a matte lip, but if the drying effect isnt your cup of tea opt for creamy mattes or add a bit of gloss for moisture @amobigbang
