As the Spring'16 Runway collections debut on the New York Fashion Week runways, it's no surprise that even designers are inspired by Disney Princesses. Check out some of the best looks below!
Chillingly gorgeous. Marchesa really updated Elsa's already appropriately modern gown into a work of art. Instead of blue, it aimed at a more silvery hue that somehow brings out a bluish color. It's chiffon and pretty and a perfect representation of Elsa.
Ariel, The Little Mermaid
Ariel really would get a feel of what it's like to have legs with this Rosie Assoulin ensemble. It incorporates a white blouse with a psychedelic green and purple two piece. Why not have a skirt with a bikini top, right?
Aurora, Sleeping Beauty
You'll probably want to fall asleep for eternity in this asymmetrical Zac Posen gown. It's pink with a similar flow to that of Aurora's. The dress is made of a fine satin perfect for the runway.
No more fringe for Pocahontas, it's all about the lace. In this beautifully simplistic design, Dion Lee captures the pure essence of Pocahontas' style. You really don't need jewels and belt to rock the runway.
Tiana, Princess and the Frog
This is by far my favorite piece. It take's Tiana's lily pad ballgown and turns it into a modern spectacle. Pamella Roland made sure to keep all of the glitz and glamour in her design which means sparkles, sparkles, sparkles!
Yes, this may be stretching it a bit. However the style is essentially the same. Adeam shows off the satin sashes and intricate Chinese design. And hey, everyone needs to update their style every once in a while.
Belle, Beauty and the Beast
Escada really brought Belle's dress into the 21st century! Subtle pleating, the rich golden yellow color and a cinched waste really completes the look. I personally think the spaghetti straps are a modern touch that was very needed.
Belle, Beauty and the Beast
Belle is becoming slightly less modest in today's world. We see a thin v-neck slit but sporting the same color scheme. Tory Burch really turned the house maid into the modern working woman. It leisurely and appropriate by today's fashion standards.
Now this is an update I appreciate. Reem Acra really perfected the embroidery which is absolutely beautiful. The colors match perfectly and somewhat emulate fire. The sheer details in this dress would make Merida swoon.
Snow White, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
It's no surprise that Victoria Beckham is behind this style nightmare. Personally I think this looks very rough even if it emulates Snow White's color combination. I think the suede looks tacky and this entire look seems dull (typical of Beckham).
I adore this. It definitely seems like a dress Kim Kardashian would love while Taylor Swift would fawn over the color (and she'd be upset the crop top is gone). Escada's jumpsuit looks very elegant and somehow modern in today's beauty. The dress really is new worldly.
Again, another far fetched comparison but it'll do. Naeem Khan is behind this design. With big geometric embroidery and bold jewelry, I'm not so sure Anna would enjoy prancing around in this design. Do you wanna a runway dress?
