2015 has been a great year for hip-hop.
This year has been jam packed with great music and tours, but all fans across the globe are one accord that the N.W.A. movie biopic titled "Straight Outta Compton" was the high point of the year.
I guess the rich only get richer as word on the street is that Universal is getting behind another major rap biopic film this year!
Per a report from Deadline Iconic music label Def Jam Records might be getting a movie.
The movie will be based on 2002’s Life and Def: Sex, Drugs, Money, + God, co-written by Russell himself and George Nelson. As of now, the studio wants Michael B. Jordan and Jonah Hill to bring the two Def Jam co-founders to the screen.
I love this idea!
Rap wouldn't be in the place it is today without Def Jam. Many young people aren't aware of the impact they had on the culture, but the NYC based label bought many of rap music first big acts to the forefront on the east coast.
