Recapping New York Fashion Week: Quirky and Sweet Dresses
The New York Fashion week collections were a lot of things, and florals were as abundant as you'd expect, but there were also plenty of designers who took a quirkier route to making standout dresses. I'm referring to the kinds of dresses we could only imagine wearing in high-fashion garden parties. These picks from last week's spring 2016 collections are my favorites, ranging from Alice in Wonderland surrealism to delicate and exquisite in the details.

Josep Font brought Delpozo to such an interesting place this season, it was quickly named my favorite collection out of New York this past week. The lines were surreal, mod, and downright quirky, with starchy skirts, bold lines and stripes, and embellishment to die for.
Alice + Olivia
Stacey Bendet gave us a fiery collection of flowery frocks that seemed almost Spanish-influenced, with dark lace and fringe and a whole lot of maxi-length skirts. These day-to-night ready dresses will be the center of attention at every cocktail party or fashionable pool party they're worn to.
Clover Canyon is known for rocking would-be-trippy prints and embellishments of the girly and summery variety. Their spring 2016 collection was no exception, and butterflies emerged from the fabric of short, statement-making dresses.
Mara Hoffman has a great way of playing with pattern to make something fun, unique, and still effortlessly cool; step into one of her designs and you're set. This collection went sky-high with clouds and rainbow prints, in long and relaxed silhouettes.
