We all really love comics... but what started it?

A friend of mine is cleaning out his comic book collection, and it's been a nostalgia trip for both of us. He's a bit older than I am, so most of his collection is from the 60s and 70s, whereas all of my childhood comic book memories are from the 80s and 90s. Comics have been such a major part of my life for so long, it's hard to remember how I was introduced to them in the first place! We talked a little bit about this before, but I want to know what the first comic you read was!
@buddyesd and @FreeWill666 said that their dad introduced them to comics... I wish I could get *my* dad to read some! @tardisdragon7 was introduced to Marvel by their grandmother. It makes sense that comics are so important to all of us!

My first comic was one of the Classic X-Men comics.

They were re-releases of older ones, but I didn't care. We bought them at the grocery store. My parents didn't want to go into the candy check-out with two young kids so we went through the check-out with periodicals... little did they know I'd want something there as well! With someone awesome on the cover, who could blame me? I know @Karthikkrazzy1 will agree with me there!
How about everyone else?
