Last week T.I made a couple big announcements. The first was that he was done with Columbia Records and was venturing out on a solo deal for a bit.
The other was about his business relationship rising star Iggy Azalea. During the interview on Hot 97, he mentioned that that he is no longer working with Iggy Azalea.
While the comments caught Iggy by surprise, she didn't overreact to the media or during discussions with her fans on social media.
“Here’s the deal, I am still signed to [T.I.] and do business with him,” she tweeted. “The first I’ve heard of us having an ‘issue’ is via a radio interview.”
She went on later to share her thoughts on the radio interview by saying “Personally, I don’t think the radio is the place to talk about your personal issues with someone that’s part of your team...” the rapper continued. “He seems to think there’s nothing wrong with what he said, everybody else seems to disagree. I’m sure Tip will publicly clarify what he meant when he feels he has the right platform to do so and other than that, I’m chillin’.”
T.I. went on to say that his comments were taken out of context.
“That’s still my partner,” T.I. said. ”Her life has taken her in a different direction. My life is still as it was before. But Iggy is doing what she feels makes Iggy happy. That’s what she should do. We’re focused on making the next Iggy record and dodge the same adversities we faced last time.”
I'm happy to hear that Iggy and T.I. have worked things out. Iggy saw great success under her first campaign with Tip, I am excited to hear the next full length they put forth.
