Tis the season (for pumpkin spice and Netflix binges)
The Fall TV season is upon us! Okay, it's already begun. With lots of nerdy stuff on the horizon (including some much-anticipated series premieres), which shows are you most looking forward to? Here are my picks:
This is the one I think I'm most excited about (along with Jessica Jones). We really need more female superheroes, and I'm hoping that Kara will be the first of many! The series premieres on October 26th.
Brooklyn Nine Nine
Easily my favorite tv comedy now that Parks & Rec is done. The writing is so tight, and all of the characters are amazingly crafted. This is returning on September 27th!
Netlifx is starting to be serious competition with traditional television, and the alliance with Marvel is definitely helping! Jessica Jones is premiering on November 20th. Prepare to binge.
The Flash & Arrow
Season two begins on October 6th WHICH IS MY BIRTHDAY so it feels like it's basically gift-wrapped for me. And Arrow is returning on October 7th, so basically my birthday week is going to be off the hook.
I'm totally hooked. I would like to change my residence to Shondaland because everything she does it solid (except with the possible exception of Crossroads the movie). This is airing TONIGHT at 9pm!
Guardians of the Galaxy
This show is definitely going to be my tv comfort food. It's airing at 9:30 pm on September 26th, but I'm still going to call it my dose of Saturday morning cartoons I miss from my childhood.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Season 5 seems like a late time to start a new series, but if you haven't seen the show before now is actually a great time to start. They closed all of their previous plot lines, and while I'm sure there will be ripples from what happened before, all the stories now seem like they are going to be totally new. Homeland is coming back on October 4th.
While Sherlock isn't returning for a while, fans of the famous detective can enjoy Elementary, which returns for season 4 on November 5th (remember, remember, the fifth of November...).
Jane the Virgin
This show is totally under-appreciated. The first season won a Peabody Award, and season 2 is probably going to be even better! It begins on October 19th.
I was a little disappointed with the last season, but I'm willing to stick around for this one. I'm hoping that the showrunners will learn from their mistakes (and successes) and bring us all a kick-butt season! Sleepy Hollow returns on October 1st.
I know I didn't list everything that's happening this Fall. Is there one I missed that you're really looking forward to?
