Here are your Top 5 Plays of the Day!
5. Cody Anderson (Cleveland Indians)
We saw something similar a few days ago with David Price. Well, he's not the only one in the Major Leagues with monster reflexes. Cody Anderson of the Cleveland Indians wasn't even thinking when he lowered his glove. And the next second, the ball was sitting right there in his glove. The Tribe beats the Twins 6-3.
4. Chase Headley (New York Yankees)
The ball was hit hard to third, but Chase Headley wasn't going to let it get passed by him. He dived to stop the ball and got up quickly to fire the ball from foul territory all the way to first to get the out. He robbed a hit from Abreu for sure and possibly one or two RBIs. The Yankees inch past the White Sox 3-2.
3. Nolan Arenado (Colorado Rockies)
It was a tough ball for Nolan Arenado. But we know we have seen plenty of great plays from the Rockies third baseman. Arenado grabs it barehand and throws a rocket to first to get the out. This play made his case for a Gold Glove a lot stronger. The Pirates however beat the Rockies 5-4.
2. Marcell Ozuna (Miami Marlins)
The ball was hit right center and Marcell Ozuna knew exactly where the ball was going. He did not hesitate one bit and timed his slide perfectly to make it to the second spot on the Top Plays list. With a very strong defense game, the Marlins beat the Phillies 1-0.
1. Miguel Rojas (Miami Marlins)
Yes, the Miami defense game was on point tonight and the best play of the night goes to another Miami Marlin, Miguel Rojas. It sure looked like it was going to be a base hit up the middle, but Rojas dived, got on his feet, and fired one to first to get the out. And with great defensive plays from Rojas and Ozuna, the Marlins beat the Phillies, 1-0.
