Well, just to make you guys feel old, I was born in '95, and mix tapes weren't exactly a thing anymore haha Which I find really, really saddening. I think it's a really romantic and/or personal idea. I've always wanted to, but tapes and CD's aren't exactly used by most people my age anymore, and making somebody a Playlist on Spotify just doesn't feel the same! I'm not really sure where I'll go with mine. They should have a flow and a message to them. I can't figure out if I want love songs or if I'll go more towards road trip style haha Um... The organization is horrible, so, I apologize ahead of time and will say that these are not in order. So, @ButterflyBlu if it goes horribly wrong, I blame you lol =p
Out on a Limb, Teena Marie Her voice. Her passion. Teena Marie is amazing. Singers of her caliber just aren't around anymore. She would single handedly destroy everybody on the radio or mainstream talent-wise. Her voice gives me goosebumps.
I Need Love, L. L. Cool J The lyrics. 'nuff said. Plus, it's L. L. Cool J. Haha
Back at One, Brian McKnight This song... The feels. "One, you're like a dream come true. Two, just wanna be with you. Three, girl it's plain to see that you're the only one for me. Four, repeat steps one through three. Five, make you fall in love with me If ever I believe my work is done, then I'll start back at One." It's beautiful. That is what love should be. That makes sense. I have no idea what sh*t my generation is doing, but this is real stuff. I wish, anyways haha
This song is slightly younger than my parents haha 1976. Always and Forever, Heatwave I think if you and your partner can't relate to every part of this song, you're not right for each other. This should be the song for every couple. Listen to it. It's perfect. In this time where people get divorced as easily as they get married, true love isn't prominent anymore. And I truly believe our (poor excuse of) music has a great deal do with that.
I couldn't think of what to end this with. I wanted to put, I Wanna Know, by Joe I wanted to put, Maps, by Yeah Yeah Yeahs I wanted to put Reasons, by Earth, Wind and Fire I wanted to put I'm gonna be, by The Proclamers I wanted to put Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand, Madonna, Bee Gees, Boys II Men, Babyface, Diana Ross... But I think I'll end it with one of my favorites, even though it's completely different than all of these and it doesn't fit in. Because I'm a rebel. Without a cause. ;p And regardless of what they say, it is NOT hip to be square haha
I like it. The lyrics. The delivery. The delicate music. The simplicity. Endlessly, by Green River Ordinance.
So, that will conclude my contribution to the Mix Tape haha Also, this was my first challenge I've done on here haha
