September is almost over, and it's officially fall, whether or not the weather is willing to act like it. But temperatures are starting to drop, making our dreams of sweater weather feel a little less distant. These are my wishlist picks that aren't so affordable, but definitely are dreamy. Sometimes quality really is better than quantity, and these sweaters definitely bring a luxe factor.
Stay tuned for the Save Version of "Sweaters I Want for Fall," a.k.a, the sweaters I want and can maybe afford for fall.
Capes and Cardigans
This cream cardigan from Chloé is the cozy dream we can envision ourselves wrapped in all winter long, but the steep price tag (over 2k!) means it will only exist in our dreams.
This Maje cardigan has a cape-like feel and an interesting print that will upgrade your basic jeans and tee-shirt combo when thrown over, plus it looks so comfy.
This embellished mohair beauty from Stella McCartney is a fun update on a silly Christmas sweater, but would look sooo cool over skinny jeans and booties.
This IRO sweater is much simpler, but has a great texture as well, for an oversized fluffy look.
This Être Cécile crewneck has a pseudo-paisley print that's on-trend but with a graphic feel when placed against the black background. Stay warm but look funky.
Speaking of crewnecks in funky patterns, this zebra-print pullover from Carven is cool and colorful, but the washed-out palette means you won't be blinding passersby while wearing.
Turtlenecks and Mock Necks
This Haider Ackermann mohair blend is simple enough to not overdo the dramatic neckline, but the slight crop keeps the silhouette cool, not frumpy.
This ribbed turtleneck from Jacquemus is lightweight enough to tuck into anything, but it's the elbow holes that make it a little more interesting.
A little color blocking never goes out of style! This Knitz by For Love and Lemons sweater is a classic look but special enough to make it to the wishlist, not to mention it's not the splurgiest of splurges, so it's almost attainable. On the other hand, this short-sleeved Miu Miu baby is pricier but so cute. The turtleneck and stripes are a match made in heaven, and the shorter sleeves mean it won't overwhelm your frame. The final pick is this navy number from Band of Outsiders, with a classic equine pattern that's almost like a thrift store find, but more luxurious of course.
